Members of the Carter Observatory Board appointed
Department of Scientific and Industrial Research,
Wellington, 2nd August, 1945.
HIS Excellency the Governor-General in Council has been pleased,
in accordance with section 5 of the Carter Observatory Act,
1938, to appoint
Russell Gladstone Dick and
Robert Cecil Hayes
to be members of the Carter Observatory Board for a period of two
years as from Ist January, 1945.

Appointment of Officer for the Purposes of Part II of the Fisheries
Act, 1908
BY direction of the Hon. Minister of Marine it is hereby
notified that His Excellency the Governor-General has, in
pursuance of the provisions of the Fisheries Act, 1908, and of the
Official Appointments and Documents Act, 1919, appointed
William Richard Pass, of Putaruru,
to be an officer for the purposes of Part II of the first-mentioned
Act in respect of the Auckland Acclimatization District.

Commissioner of the Supreme Court appointed
GEORGE FORREST DAVIES, Esquire, of the City of Melbourne,
a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Victoria, has this day
been appointed by the Right Honourable Sir Michael Myers,
G.C.M.G., Chief Justice of New Zealand, a Commissioner of the
Supreme Court of New Zealand in the State of Victoria under the
47th section of the Judicature Act, 1908, for the purpose of
administering and taking all such oaths, affidavits, and affirmations
as in the said section mentioned.
