authorize and empower you from time to time as occasion may
require to convene general courts-martial for the trial of any person
for the time being under or within the territorial limits of your
command who is subject to the Air Force Act, 1937, and the
regulations made thereunder, and who shall be charged with any
offence for which such person may be tried by courts-martial, whether
such offence shall have been committed before or after the date of
this Warrant :
And I do hereby empower you in respect of the proceedings of
any court-martial to confirm the findings and sentences thereof
according to law :
Provided always that if by sentence of any general court-
martial a commissioned officer has been sentenced to suffer death,
penal servitude, or imprisonment, or to be cashiered or dismissed
from the Air Force, or an airman has by any court-martial been
sentenced to suffer death or penal servitude, you shall in such cases,
and also in the case of any other court-martial in which you shall
think fit so to do, transmit the proceedings of any such court-martial
to me for my confirmation or other decision thereon :
And I do hereby further empower you to appoint a fit person to

And, for so doing, this shall be to you, as to all others whom it
may concern, a sufficient Warrant.

WHEREAS I am empowered by Warrant of His Excellency
the Governor-General bearing date 16th day of July, 1945,
to direct my Warrant to any officer of the Air Force not below the
rank of Squadron Leader, giving him a general authority to convene
general courts-martial for the trial of any persons subject to the
Air Force Act, 1937, and the regulations made thereunder, and also
to exercise (subject to the provisions of the said Warrant) in respect
of the proceedings of such courts-martial the power of confirming
the findings and sentences thereof according to law, or of directing

Notice to Persons affected by Applications for Licenses under Part III
of the Industrial Efficiency Act, 1936
Taking of Fish for Sale
L. Rides, 16 Eliot Street, New Plymouth, and A. G. Williams,
540 Devon Street West, New Plymouth, have applied for licenses
to permit them to operate their 48 ft. 36 h.p. vessel “Swansea”
(not yet registered), using set-nets, long lines, hand-lines, and
crayfish-pots, catches to be landed at New Plymouth.
J. H. Kenton, P.O. Box 7, Port Chalmers, has applied for a
variation of his existing license in respect of the “Elaine,” DN. 70,
so as to permit him to use trawl-nets in addition to his present
methods of fishing, catches to be landed at Port Chalmers.
A. Robertson, Charles Street, Westshore, Napier, has applied
for a variation of his existing license in respect of the “Dawn II,”
NR. 187, so as to permit him to operate his 48 ft. 36 h.p. fishing-
vessel “Waimana” (not yet registered), using trawl-nets, drag-
nets, long lines, hand-lines, and crayfish-pots, catches to be landed
at Napier.
Manufacture for Sale of Footwear
Vivian Slippers, Ltd., 24 Bond Street, Wellington, have applied
for an extension of their existing license so as to permit the manu-
facture of women’s footwear of the sandal type by the machine-sewn,
riveted, and cemented processes.
Radio-manufacturing Industry
Green and Cooper, Ltd., 43 Taranaki Street, Wellington,
have applied for a variation of their existing radio-manufacturing
license so as to permit the manufacture of an unlimited number of
radio receiving-sets.
Persons considering themselves materially affected by the
decision of the Bureau of Industry on these applications should make
any desired representations in writing not later than the 16th August,
1945, to G. L. O’Halloran, Secretary, Bureau of Industry, G.P.O.
Box 3025, Wellington.
