THE Public Service Commissioner has made the following appointments in the Public Service:—
John Francis Dawson
to be an Assistant Inspector for the purposes of the Hospitals and Charitable Institutions Act, 1926, on and from the 15th day of May, 1943.
William Campbell Davidson
to be an Assistant Inspector for the purposes of the Hospitals and Charitable Institutions Act, 1926, on and from the 24th day of July, 1944.
Hector Charles Tremewan
to be an Assistant Inspector for the purposes of the Hospitals and Charitable Institutions Act, 1926, on and from the 4th day of December, 1944.
Mavis Attree
to be an Assistant Inspector for the purposes of the Hospitals and Charitable Institutions Act, 1926, on and from the 21st day of October, 1943.
Dolina Frances Gatenby
to be an Assistant Inspector for the purposes of the Hospitals and Charitable Institutions Act, 1926, on and from the 3rd day of January, 1945.
Alice Charlotte Horrell
to be an Assistant Inspector for the purposes of the Hospitals and Charitable Institutions Act, 1926, on and from the 6th day of December, 1943.
Mary Julia O’Meara
to be an Assistant Inspector for the purposes of the Hospitals and Charitable Institutions Act, 1926, on and from the 4th day of January, 1945.
Alice Barbara Sumner
to be an Assistant Inspector for the purposes of the Hospitals and Charitable Institutions Act, 1926, on and from the 16th day of September, 1926.
William Shattock Jones
to be Registrar of Marriages for the District of Palmerston North for the purposes of the Marriage Act, 1908, Registrar of Births and Deaths for the District of Palmerston North for the purposes of the Births and Deaths Registration Act, 1924, and Registrar of Births and Deaths of Maoris at Palmerston North for the purposes of the Maori Births and Deaths Registration Regulations 1935, on and from the 18th day of June, 1945.
Frank Bernard Loxley Jameson
to be Clerk of the Magistrates’ Court at Wellington for the purposes of the Magistrates’ Courts Act, 1928, and Clerk of the Licensing Committees for the Districts of Wellington, Wellington Suburbs, and Hutt for the purposes of the Licensing Act, 1908, on and from the 19th day of June, 1945.
David Benjamin Theodore Harvey
to be Registrar of Marriages and of Births and Deaths for the District of Waiapu, on and from the 29th day of June, 1945, and Registrar of Births and Deaths of Maoris at Waipiro Bay, on and from the 29th day of June, 1945.

Waimakariri River Trust
WHEREAS by Warrant dated the 15th day of May, 1935, and published in Gazette No. 36 of the 16th day of the same month, Henry Holland, Esquire, M.P., Christchurch, was appointed a Commissioner of the Waimakariri River Trust, in terms of section three of the Waimakariri River Improvement Act, 1922:
And whereas it is considered expedient to appoint another Commissioner in lieu of the said Henry Holland, who is now deceased:
Now, therefore, I, Robert Semple, the Minister of Works, in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred upon me by section three of the Waimakariri River Improvement Act, 1922, and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby appoint
Robert Mafeking Macfarlane, Esquire, M.P.,
of Christchurch, to be a Commissioner of the Waimakariri River Trust.
