Price Order No. 388 (Amending Price Order No. 373) (Fish—Dunedin)

Pursuant to the powers conferred on it by the Control of Prices Emergency Regulations 1939,* the Price Tribunal, acting with the authority of the Minister of Industries and Commerce, doth hereby make the following amending Price Order:—

  1. This Order may be cited as Price Order No. 388, and shall be read together with and deemed part of Price Order No. 373† (hereinafter referred to as the principal Order).

  2. This Order shall come into force on the 9th day of July, 1945.

  3. The principal Order is hereby amended by inserting after clause 5 the following additional clause:—
    “5A. The several prices fixed by this Order apply only with respect to fish sold on or after the 1st day of October, 1945.”

Dated at Wellington, this 5th day of July, 1945.

The Shops and Offices Act, 1921–22, and its Amendments.—Fixing the Closing-hours of Fruiterers’ Shops within the Borough of Levin

Whereas a requisition in writing has been forwarded to the Minister of Labour from the occupiers of fruiterers’ shops within the Borough of Levin, pursuant to section 32 of the Shops and Offices Act, 1921–22:

And whereas he is satisfied that the signatures to such requisition represent a majority of the occupiers of all the said shops within the said borough:

Now, therefore, in pursuance of the said section 32, the Minister of Labour doth hereby direct that on and after the 23rd day of July, 1945, all the said shops within the said borough shall be closed on the evening of working-days as follows: On Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays at 6.30 p.m., and on Fridays and Saturdays at 9.30 p.m., during the months of May, June, July, August, September, October, and November in each year.

Additional Land at Blenheim taken for the Purposes of the Picton–Hurunui Railway

A PROCLAMATION

Whereas it has been found desirable for the use, convenience, and enjoyment of the Picton–Hurunui Railway to take further land at Blenheim in addition to land previously acquired for the purposes of the said railway:

Now, therefore, I, Cyril Louis Norton Newall, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on me by sections thirty-four and two hundred and sixteen of the Public Works Act, 1928, and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for the purposes above mentioned.

SCHEDULE

Approximate area of the piece of land taken: 7 perches.
Part Lot 1, D.P. 836, being part Section 47, Opawa District.

Situated in the Borough of Blenheim, Block XVI, Cloudy Bay Survey District. (S.O. 3813.)

In the Marlborough Land District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked L.O. 7887, deposited in the office of the Minister of Railways at Wellington, and thereon coloured orange.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued under the Seal of that Dominion, this 3rd day of July, 1945.

In pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by section forty-four of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act, 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby appoint

Normand Alan Burgess,
Alexander Rae,
William Charles Ross,
James Kinghorn Ross,
Archibald McArthur, and
Robert William Holmes

to be the Purakauiti Domain Board, having control of the land described in the Schedule hereto; and doth hereby appoint Wednesday, the eighteenth day of July, one thousand nine hundred and forty-five, at half past seven o’clock p.m., as the time when, and the Tarara School as the place where, the first meeting of the Board shall be held.
