Notice under the National Savings Act, 1940, Section 5
Wellington, 4th May, 1945.
IN terms of section 5 of the National Savings Act, 1940, I, Walter Nash, Minister of Finance, hereby authorize the trustees of the undermentioned savings-banks (being savings-banks constituted under the Savings-bank Act, 1908) to receive investments by way of deposits in investment accounts under the National Savings Act, 1940, during the investment period expiring on the 30th June, 1946:—

Date of Election of Fire-insurance Companies to fill Extraordinary Vacancy on the Timaru Fire Board

Wellington, 13th June, 1945.
PURSUANT to the Fire Brigades Act, 1926, and the rules made thereunder, the Minister charged with the administration of the said Act doth hereby appoint Friday, the 29th June, 1945, to be the date for holding the election of one member of the Timaru Fire Board by the fire-insurance companies concerned, such election being held to fill the extraordinary vacancy caused by the resignation of Mr. R. L. Eames.

THE following results of the elections of members of the Masterton, Carterton, and Pahiatua Fire Boards have been reported to the Minister of Internal Affairs, and are notified in accordance with the rules under the Fire Brigades Act, 1926:—

Notice of Intention to take Land in the Town District of Putaruru for Post and Telegraph Purposes
NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1928, to take the land described in the Schedule hereto for Post and Telegraph purposes: And notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the post-office at Putaruru and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Works at Wellington.

APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land required to be taken: 2 roods 39·1 perches.
Being Lot 5, D.P. 31761, and being part Section 6, Block I, of the Village of Putaruru.
Situated in the Town District of Putaruru (Auckland R.D.).
In the Auckland Land District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 121029, deposited in the office of the Minister of Works at Wellington, and thereon edged green.

NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1928, to take the land described in the Schedule hereto for sand-dune reclamation: And notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the post-office at Woodhill and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Works at Wellington.

Notice of Intention to take Land and a Right-of-way over Land in the Town of Clinton for a Post-office
NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1928, to execute a certain public work—to wit, the construction of a post-office—and for the purposes of such public work the land described in the First Schedule hereto, together with the right-of-way appurtenant thereto over the land marked “Right-of-way” on Deposited Plan No. 436, Otago Land Registry, and the land described in the Second Schedule hereto is required to be taken: And notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the post-office at Clinton and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of the said land and right-of-way should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of such land and right-of-way, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Works at Wellington.

Order declaring Prohibited Place under the Defence Emergency Regulations 1941
PURSUANT to the Defence Emergency Regulations 1941,* the Minister of Defence doth hereby declare the place specified in the Schedule hereto to be a prohibited place for the purposes of the said regulations.

ALL that area containing by admeasurement 15 acres and 1 rood, more or less, situated in the City of Auckland, being part of Lot 3 on D.P. 23745 and parts of Lots 18 and 22 on D.P. 18321, and being parts of Allotments 35 and 36 of the District of Tamaki, and part of the land comprised and described in certificate of title, Vol. 418, folio 12 (Auckland Registry): Bounded by a line commencing 6475·57 links north and 35566·63 links east of Trig. Station 16, Mount Eden, and running along the south-western side of Kohimarama Road, bearing 326° 56′ distant 217·71 links and 315° 24′ distant 160 links; thence along right lines across Lot 18 on D.P. 18321, bearing 216° 00′ distant 664 links, 277° 00′ distant 610 links, 331° 00′ distant 428 links, 242° 00′ distant 705 links, 146° 00′ distant 495 links, 141° 00′ distant 104 links, and 133° 00′ distant 175 links; thence across Lot 22 on the said D.P. 18321, bearing 122° 30′ distant 190 links, 112° 00′ distant 172 links, and 105° 00′ distant 486 links, and bearing 60° 00′ distant 505 links and 37° 00′ distant 205 links, across the said Lot 22 and Lot 3 on D.P. 23745; thence again across the said Lot 18, bearing 54° 00′ distant 650 links, to the south-western side of the said Kohimarama Road; and thence along the south-westerly side of the said road, bearing 347° 32′ distant 310 links, to the point of commencement: be all the aforesaid measurements a little more or less.
