Hauraki Plains Drainage Area.—Notice of Intention to make and levy Rates

Department of Lands and Survey,
Wellington, 5th June, 1945.

NOTICE is hereby given that it is intended, pursuant to the Hauraki Plains Act, 1926, to make and levy, on the unimproved value of all land within the district constituted under the said Act, the general rates to meet maintenance-costs for the period 1st April, 1945, to 31st March, 1946, as described in the Schedule hereto.

The amount of such rates will be payable in one sum on the 2nd July, 1945.

The valuation roll of the district is open for inspection at the office of the Collector of Rates, Chief Drainage Engineer’s Office, Room 45, Government Buildings, Customs Street West, Auckland, and a copy of same may be inspected at the office of the Land Drainage Engineer, at Kerepeehi, at all times at which those offices are open for the transaction of public business.

SCHEDULE

Class A.—On the unimproved value of all lands classified as Class A by the appraiser appointed under the said Act, sevenpence and fifty-seven one-hundredths of a penny (7·57d.) in the pound.

Class B.—On the unimproved value of all lands so classified as Class B, fourpence and thirty-three one-hundredths of a penny (4·33d.) in the pound.

Class C.—On the unimproved value of all lands so classified as Class C, one penny and eight one-hundredths of a penny (1·08d.) in the pound.

Declaring Area to be a Closely Populated Locality for the Purposes of the Motor-vehicles Amendment Act, 1936, Section 3

IN terms of section 3 of the Motor-vehicles Amendment Act, 1936, the Minister of Transport doth hereby declare the area described in the Schedule hereto to be a closely populated locality for the purposes of the said section to the intent that a person driving any motor-vehicle on any road, street, or other place to which the public have access therein shall be subject to the maximum speed limit of thirty miles an hour fixed by the said section.

SCHEDULE

SITUATED within the Hutt County—

All that area at Homedale Settlement, Wainui-o-mata Valley, consisting of (1) the Wainui-o-mata Road commencing at the bridge approximately 16 chains measured in a northerly direction along the said road from its junction with Moore’s Valley Road and terminating at its junction with Hine Road, a distance of approximately 40 chains; and (2) Moore’s Valley Road commencing at its junction with the Wainui-o-mata Road, and terminating at a point 20 chains measured along the road in an easterly direction from the said junction, the whole area being indicated in green on the plan marked TT.1680, deposited in the office of the Transport Department at Wellington.

Exemption Order under the Transport Legislation Emergency Regulations 1940

PURSUANT to the Transport Legislation Emergency Regulations 1940, the Minister of Transport doth hereby order and declare that the provisions of clause (1) of Regulation 7 of the Motor-drivers Regulations 1940, so far as they relate to the driving of heavy trade motors, shall not apply to the person hereinafter mentioned, but in lieu thereof the following provision shall apply:—

A motor-driver’s license issued under the Motor-drivers Regulations 1940 to the person described in Column 1 of the Schedule hereunder may authorize him to drive a heavy trade motor for the purpose of the business of the respective employer described in Column 2 of the said Schedule, but shall not authorize him, while he is under the age of eighteen years, to drive a heavy trade motor-vehicle for any other purpose.

Notice of Exercise of Powers under the Defence Emergency Regulations 1941

BOMBING RANGES

IN accordance with the powers conferred on the Minister of Defence under section 18 of the Defence Emergency Regulations 1941, and in accordance with the authority conferred on me by the said Minister of Defence pursuant to section 5c (1) of the Defence Emergency Regulations 1941, Amendment No. 3, I hereby give notice of the establishment of bombing ranges more particularly described as follows:—

(a) Danger Area No. 1.—Situated within the Franklin County and the Maramarua Survey District, being part of Block II. The danger area is all that area within a circle having a radius of 1,000 yards from the target position at latitude 37° 14′ 44″ S. and longitude 175° 04′ 03″ E. This target position is approximately two miles and a half east of Pokeno, and the south perimeter of the danger area almost cuts the new Pokeno–Thames Railway formation.

(b) Danger Area No. 2.—Situated within the North Waikato County and the Maramarua Survey District, being part of Blocks VII and XI. The danger area is all that area within a circle having a radius of 2,000 yards from the target position at latitude 37° 20′ 16″ S. and longitude 175° 07′ 53″ E. The target position is at a point approximately four miles east of the Waikato River and three miles south of the Maramarua River.
