Changing the Purpose of Portion of a Reserve in the City of Wanganui, Wellington Land District

ORDER IN COUNCIL

At the Government House at Wellington, this 30th day of May, 1945

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto forms portion of a reserve duly set apart for public-utility purposes:

And whereas it is expedient that the purpose of the reservation over such land shall be changed to a reserve for municipal purposes:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, and in exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by subsection one (a) of section seven of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act, 1928, doth hereby declare that the purpose of the reservation over the land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby changed from a reserve for public-utility purposes to a reserve for municipal purposes.

SCHEDULE
WELLINGTON LAND DISTRICT

ALL that area in the City of Wanganui, containing by admeasurement 1 rood, more or less, being part of the Town Belt, Town of Wanganui, bounded, commencing at a point on the south-western boundary of Reserve G, Town of Wanganui, distant 330 links from the southernmost corner of that reserve; thence south-easterly along that boundary and the south-western boundary of Section 1, Town of Wanganui, 330 links and 200 links respectively, to Taupo Quay; thence westerly along the northern side of Hatrick Street, 62·06 links, to the western side of Churton’s Creek; thence north-westerly along the south-western side of that creek to a point bearing 234° 44′ distance 8 links from the commencing-point; thence north-easterly by a right line to the commencing-point: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 46409, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon edged red.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to section one hundred and sixty-seven of the Native Land Act, 1931, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, doth hereby vary an Order in Council made on the fourth day of April, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-two, and published in the Gazette on the seventh day of April, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-two, at page 735, and affecting Hauturu East B 2 Section 2A 1A and other blocks by excluding therefrom the lands described in the Schedule hereto.
