THE EDUCATION BOARD OF THE DISTRICT OF CANTERBURY

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND

In the matter of the Public Works Act, 1928, and the Acts amending the same.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Education Board of the District of Canterbury, a body corporate under the Education Act, 1914, proposes to take, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1928, and its amendments, for the purposes of an extension of a site for a district high school, all that parcel of land situated in Block I, Kaniere Survey District, containing 30 perches, being Section 1173, Town of Hokitika, and being the whole of the land in certificate of title, Vol. 29, folio 259 (Westland Registry), and being the whole of the land edged in red on a plan lodged in the office of the Chief Surveyor at Hokitika, and thereon numbered 1/34.

And notice is hereby further given that a plan showing the land required to be taken and the names of the owners and occupiers of such land is deposited at the offices of the Secretary of the Education Board of the District of Canterbury, Oxford Terrace, Christchurch, where it lies open for public inspection daily, without fee, during all reasonable hours; and that all persons affected shall, if they have any objections to the taking of such land, set forth in writing such objection, and send such writing, within forty days from the date of the first publication of such notice, being the 18th day of May, 1945, addressed to the Secretary, Education Board of the District of Canterbury, Oxford Terrace, Christchurch.

1st NEW ZEALAND EXPEDITIONARY FORCE, 1914–18

(1) A list of members of the 1st New Zealand Expeditionary Force killed in action, died of wounds inflicted, of accidents occurring, or disease contracted while on active service.

(2) Those who died after discharge from the 1st New Zealand Expeditionary Force from wounds inflicted or disease contracted while on active service up to 31st December, 1923.

(3) Those who died from accident occurring or disease contracted while training with or attached to the 1st New Zealand Expeditionary Force of New Zealand.

Supplementary and Extraordinary Gazettes: For the first 8 pages, 6d.; over 8 pages and not exceeding 32 pages, 9d., increasing by 3d. for every subsequent 16 pages or part thereof; postage, 1d.

Advertisements are charged at the rate of 6d. per line for the first insertion, and 3d. per line for the second and any subsequent insertions.

All advertisements should be written on one side of the paper, and signatures, &c., should be written in a legible hand.

The number of insertions required must be written across the face of the advertisement.
