The Servicemen’s Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943.—Notice declaring Land taken for the Settlement of a Discharged Serviceman
WHEREAS an application has been made for the consent of the Land Sales Court to a transaction which relates to the land described in the Schedule hereto and to which Part III of the Servicemen’s Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943, applies:
And whereas the Land Sales Committee to which the application has been referred is of opinion that the land to which the application relates is farm land suitable or adaptable for the settlement of a discharged serviceman:
And whereas the said committee, not being satisfied that the Crown had decided not to acquire or arrange for the acquisition of the land, did on the 21st day of December, 1944, make an order determining the basic value of the land:
And whereas an appeal from the said order was made within the time prescribed by the said Act:
And whereas the Court has made an order determining the basic value of the land:
And whereas the said land is not the land of any serviceman who is for the time being serving outside New Zealand in any of His Majesty’s Forces or in any British ship:
Now, therefore, the Minister of Lands, acting in pursuance of section 51 of the said Act, doth hereby declare that the said land is taken for the settlement of a discharged serviceman, and hereby specifies the 1st day of June, 1945, as the date on which the said land shall be deemed to be vested in His Majesty the King.

AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT
ALL that parcel of land containing ninety (90) acres one (1) rood twenty-six (26) perches, more or less, being Lot I on Deposited Plan No. 14701, being part Waitakaruru No. 1c No. 1 Block, situated in Piako Survey District, and being the whole of the land comprised in certificate of title, Vol. 340, folio 190 (Auckland Registry).

Amending a Notice defining Lands in Auckland Land District to which Water is supplied pursuant to Section 8 of the Land Laws Amendment Act, 1939
WHEREAS by a notice dated the 5th day of July, 1941, and published in Gazette of the 7th day of August, 1941, certain lands situated in Blocks V and IX, Rangitaiki Upper Survey District, Auckland Land District, were defined as lands to which water is supplied pursuant to section 8 of the Land Laws Amendment Act, 1939:
And whereas it is desirable that the said notice should be amended:
Now, therefore, I, Clarence Farrington Skinner, the Minister of Lands, in pursuance of the power and authority conferred upon me by subsection (5) of section 8 of the Land Laws Amendment Act, 1939, do hereby amend the said notice by substituting the description of the lands set forth in the Schedule hereto for the description of the lands set forth in the Schedule to the said notice.

ALL that area in the Whakatane County, situated in Blocks V and IX, Rangitaiki Upper Survey District, containing by admeasurement 779 acres and 3 perches, more or less, and more particularly described as follows:—

Allotment 236, Matata Parish: Area, 81 acres 2 roods 2 perches.
Allotment 237, Matata Parish: Area, 55 acres 3 roods 0 perches.
