Changing the Purpose of a Reserve in Rangitoto Survey District,
Wellington Land District

ORDER IN COUNCIL
At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 2nd day of
May, 1945
Present:
THE HON. W. NASH PRESIDING IN COUNCIL
WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto is a reserve
duly set apart for metal purposes: And whereas it is
expedient that the purpose of the reservation over such land shall
be changed to a reserve for defence purposes:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of
the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice
and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, and
in exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by
subsection one (a) of section seven of the Public Reserves, Domains,
and National Parks Act, 1928, doth hereby declare that the purpose
of the reserve described in the Schedule hereto is hereby changed
from a reserve for metal purposes to a reserve for defence purposes.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred
upon him by subsection one (b) of section seven of the Public
Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act, 1928, His Excellency
the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by
and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the
said Dominion, doth hereby revoke the reservation for municipal
purposes over the land described in the Schedule hereto; and doth
hereby declare that the said land, being vested in the Crown, is
Crown land available for disposal under the Land Act, 1924.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred
upon him by subsection one (b) of section seven of the Public
Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act, 1928, His Excellency
the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by
and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the
said Dominion, doth hereby revoke the reservation for a site for a
post-office over the land described in the Schedule hereto; and doth
hereby declare that the said land, being vested in the Crown, is
Crown land available for disposal under the Land Act, 1924.

Order in Council as to Superannuation Rights of John Turnbull,
an Employee of the New Zealand Public Service Association

Present:
THE HON. W. NASH PRESIDING IN COUNCIL
WHEREAS John Turnbull, of Wellington (hereinafter referred
to as “the contributor”) is, and from the third day of
April, one thousand nine hundred and forty-five, has been exclusively
engaged as an employee of the New Zealand Public Service Association (Incorporated) (hereinafter referred to as “the Association”),
being an approved organization within the meaning of section
fifteen of the Finance Act (No. 2), 1940:
And whereas immediately prior to being so engaged with the
Association the contributor was a contributor to the Public Service
Superannuation Fund and was then contributing to the said fund
five per centum of his salary:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the
Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power
and authority conferred on him by section fifteen of the Finance
Act (No. 2), 1940, and of every other power and authority enabling
him in that behalf, and acting by and with the advice and consent
of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby declare
and order as follows:—
- The contributor shall be entitled to continue to be a
contributor to the Public Service Superannuation Fund during
and in respect of the period of his engagement with the Association, subject, however, to the provisions of the aforesaid section
fifteen of the Finance Act (No. 2), 1940, and to the following express
conditions:—
(a) The contribution of the contributor to the Public Service
Superannuation Fund shall (in accordance with subsection five of the said section fifteen) be at the rate
of five per centum of the salary received by him from
the Association:
(b) In addition to the contribution payable by the contributor,
as specified in the last preceding paragraph, there shall
be paid to the credit of the fund by the Association,
at such times and in such manner as may be determined
by the Public Service Superannuation Board, a sum
equal to three per centum of the salary from time to
time payable to the contributor by the Association.
- If the contributor is re-employed by the Association while
in receipt of a retiring-allowance from the Public Service Superannuation Fund, no more of such retiring-allowance shall be paid
in respect of any month than is equivalent, when added to the
remuneration so received by him in that month, to one-twelfth
of the annual salary on the basis of which he was contributing
to the fund at the date of his retirement.

May, 1945
Present:
THE HON. W. NASH PRESIDING IN COUNCIL
IN pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred upon him
by the Animals Protection and Game Act, 1921–22, His
Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice
and consent of the Executive Council, doth hereby order and
declare that opossums may be taken or killed within the acclimatization districts specified in the Schedule hereto, except in any
sanctuary other than a scenic reserve, subject in all cases to the
general regulations made by Order in Council dated the twenty-fourth day of May, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-four,
and to the special conditions specified in connection with each
district.

BULLER ACCLIMATIZATION DISTRICT
(As described in New Zealand Gazette No. 17 of 12th March, 1925,
at page 749)
- Season: Noon on 1st June to noon on 31st August, 1945
(inclusive). - License fee: £2.
