Alterations to the Scales of Charges upon the New Zealand Government Railways
IN pursuance of all powers and authorities enabling me under the Government Railways Act, 1926, and its amendments, and of all other powers enabling me in this behalf, I, Robert Semple, Minister of Railways, do hereby make the following alterations to the General Scale of Charges and to the Goods—Local Rates Scale of Charges made on the 13th day of April, 1939, and published in the Supplement dated the 19th day of April, 1939, to the New Zealand Gazette of the 13th day of April, 1939, in force on the New Zealand Government Railways open for traffic.

3. Reserved Seats
Paragraph 7: By omitting the words “twenty-four hours” and substituting the words “six working-hours (calculated between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.).”
36. Restrictions on Travel by Specified Trains
Paragraph 2: By omitting from clause (c) the words “Through rail-car services between Wellington and Wairoa” and substituting the following:—
Through rail-car service from Wairoa to Wellington.
Through rail-car service from Wellington to Gisborne.
LUGGAGE, PARCELS, ETC.
52. Pedal Bicycles or Tricycles
By adding the following new paragraph:—
2A. Bicycles or tricycles, unchecked, accompanying passengers, not claimed immediately after arrival at destination station will be allowed free storage until midnight of the day of arrival; after that time they will be treated as lost luggage and charged for as provided in Regulation 49.
63. Corpses
By omitting paragraphs 1 and 2 and substituting the following:—
- The charge for the conveyance of one or more corpses in the same wagon and included in one consignment will be as follows:—

67. Local Rates and Regulations
By adding the following new paragraph:—
10. Parcels may be consigned between any station and the points specified hereunder via Little River. The charges for conveyance by road from or to Little River are as follows:—
