Revocation of Appointment of certain Garage-proprietors for Issue of Warrants of Fitness

IN terms of Regulation 11 of the Traffic Regulations 1936, and of all other powers enabling me in that behalf, I, James O’Brien, Minister of Transport, do hereby revoke the approval of the person and firm described in the Schedule hereto for the purposes of the issue of Warrants of Fitness for motor-vehicles.

Appointing the Time and Place for the First Meeting of the Waimairi Electric-power Board

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by the Electric-power Boards Act, 1925, I, Robert Semple, the Minister of Works, do hereby appoint Tuesday, the 1st day of May, 1945, at 8 p.m. as the time, and the Waimairi County Council Chambers, North Road, Papanui, as the place, for holding the first meeting of the Waimairi Electric-power Board.

Open Season for Imported Game and/or Native Game amended in Bay of Islands, Hobson, Mangonui-Whangaroa, and Whangarei Acclimatization Districts

IN exercise of the powers vested in him by the Animals Protection and Game Act, 1921–22, the Minister of Internal Affairs of the Dominion of New Zealand doth hereby amend the Warrant dated 23rd March, 1945, made under the Animals Protection and Game Act, 1921–22, and published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 21 of the 27th idem at page 329 et seq., by deleting condition number one appearing under the headings “Bay of Islands Acclimatization District,” “Hobson Acclimatization District,” “Mangonui-Whangaroa Acclimatization District,” and “Whangarei Acclimatization District,” respectively, and by inserting, in each case, the following condition in lieu thereof:—

“1. Season for cock pheasants, Californian quail, and Australian quail: 12th May to 1st July, 1945 (both days inclusive).”

Notice respecting Proposed Alteration of Boundaries.—Hauraki Plains West Drainage District, County of Hauraki Plains

IT is hereby notified that a petition has been presented to His Excellency the Governor-General, under the Land Drainage Act, 1908, and amendments, praying that the area described in the Schedule hereto may be included in the Hauraki Plains West Drainage District.

All persons affected are hereby called upon to lodge any written objections to or petitions against the proposed alteration of boundaries which they desire to lodge within one month from the first publication of this notice, such objections or petitions to be addressed to the Minister of Internal Affairs, Wellington.

AREA PROPOSED TO BE INCLUDED IN THE HAURAKI PLAINS WEST DRAINAGE DISTRICT

ALL that area in the Hauraki Plains County, bounded by a line commencing at a point in Block VIII, Wharekawa Survey District, being the western corner of Lot 3 on D.P. 21822, and being part of Waitakaruru Nos. 4A and 4B Blocks, and running north-easterly along the north-western boundary of the said No. 4A Block, being a right line across Lots 3, 2, and 1 on the said D.P. 21822, to a point on a public road, bearing 305° 21′ distant 591·3 links from the easternmost corner of the said Lot 1; thence along a right line across the said public road, bearing 49° 36′ 40″ distant 103·2 links, to the westernmost corner of Lot 4 on D.P. 25055, being part of Waitakaruru Nos. 4A, 4B, and 3C 1 Blocks; thence along the north-western boundary of the said Lot 4, to and across a public road, and along the north-western boundary of Lot 6 on the said D.P. 25055, being part of Waitakaruru No. 3C 1 Block, to the shore of the Firth of Thames; thence south-easterly along the said shore to the right bank of the Waitakaruru Stream at its mouth; thence south-westerly generally along the said right bank to its intersection with the middle of the Pokeno–Paeroa Main Highway, and along the middle of the said main highway to its intersection with the production south-easterly of the south-western boundary of Ngarewha No. 1 Block; thence north-westerly generally along a right line to and along the said south-western boundary, and along the south-western boundaries of Ngarewha Nos. 2B and 2A Blocks, Waitakaruru Nos. 1D 1, 1D 2, 1A 2C, 1A 6, 1A 5, 1A 3B, 1A 3C, 1A 3D, 1A 3E 2, 1A 4B Blocks, Lots 4 and 3 on D.P. 26678, being parts of Waitakaruru Nos. 3A 2, 3B, 3C 2, and 3C 1 Blocks, Lot 4 on D.P. 16095, being part of Waitakaruru No. 3C 1 Block, and Lot 4 and part of Lot 3 on D.P. 21822, being parts of Waitakaruru Nos. 3C 1 and 4A Blocks, to the point of commencement.

The Rotorua Milk Delivery Notice 1942, Amendment No. 3

PURSUANT to the Delivery Emergency Regulations 1942,* the Minister of Transport doth hereby give notice as follows—

  1. This notice may be cited as the Rotorua Milk Delivery Notice 1942, Amendment No. 3, and shall be read together with and deemed part of the Rotorua Milk Delivery Notice 1942† (hereinafter referred to as “the principal scheme”).

  2. Clause 6 of the principal scheme is hereby amended by revoking the words “H. E. Knight, Rotorua,” relating to deliveries in Zone No. 4, and substituting the words “John Heywood Hampson, of Rotorua.”

Exemption Order under the Transport Legislation Emergency Regulations 1940

PURSUANT to the Transport Legislation Emergency Regulations 1940, the Minister of Transport doth hereby order and declare that the provisions of clause (1) of Regulation 7 of the Motor-drivers Regulations 1940, so far as they relate to the driving of heavy trade motors, shall not apply to the person hereinafter mentioned, but in lieu thereof the following provision shall apply:—

A motor-driver’s license issued under the Motor-drivers Regulations 1940 to the person described in Column 1 of the Schedule hereunder may authorize him to drive a heavy trade motor for the purpose of the business of the employer described in Column 2 of the said Schedule, but shall not authorize him while he is under the age of eighteen years to drive a heavy trade motor for any other purpose.
