HAMILTON BOROUGH COUNCIL

SECURITY RATE—TEMPORARY HOUSING LOAN, £8,800 (1945)

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the Hamilton Borough Council hereby resolves that, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan not exceeding £8,800 (eight thousand eight hundred pounds), authorized to be raised by the Hamilton Borough Council for the purpose of the purchase of certain buildings at the camp known as “Snake Gully,” improving and adding to them to make them suitable for temporary housing, for roading, heating, lighting, plumbing, water, drainage (including land drainage), clearing the adjoining areas, electric-power lines, and other labour and materials, plant and tools, the said Hamilton Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one-eighth of a penny (½d.) in the pound (£) on the rateable value (unimproved) of all rateable property in the Borough of Hamilton; and such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and shall be payable on the 31st day of March in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of fifteen years or until the loan is fully paid off.

The above resolution was passed at a duly constituted meeting of the Hamilton Borough Council held the 21st day of March, 1945.
