A PROCLAMATION
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by section
twelve of the Land Act, 1924, I, Cyril Louis Norton Newall,
the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby
proclaim as closed the portion of street described in the Schedule
hereto.

SCHEDULE
APPROXIMATE area of the piece of street closed: 2 roods 26 perches.
Adjoining or passing through Allotments 363 (in Proclamation
9939), 364, 365, 409, closed street, and Crown land, Town of
Hamilton East.

Situated in Block II, Hamilton Survey District (Auckland R.D.).

Constituting the Borough of Mount Maunganui

A PROCLAMATION
WHEREAS, in accordance with the provisions of section one
hundred and thirty-five of the Municipal Corporations Act,
1933, a petition was presented to the Governor-General praying
that the area described in the said petition be constituted a new
borough:

And whereas the provisions of the said section one hundred and
thirty-five have been complied with in respect thereto, and the
result of the poll taken on the proposal that the area should be
constituted a new borough was in favour thereof:

Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and
authorities vested in me by the Municipal Corporations Act, 1933,
I, Cyril Louis Norton Newall, the Governor-General of the Dominion
of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare that the area
described in the Schedule hereto shall be constituted a borough under
the said Act on and from the first day of April, one thousand nine
hundred and forty-five, that the name of such borough shall be the
Borough of Mount Maunganui; and that the number of Councillors
to be elected to the Council of the said borough shall be seven,
exclusive of the Mayor:

And I do further proclaim and declare that George Ewan
Hutton, of Mount Maunganui, shall be the Returning Officer to
conduct the first election of Mayor and Councillors of the said
borough; and that the said George Ewan Hutton shall be the Town
Clerk and the person to prepare the district electors roll for the
purposes of the said first election:

And lastly, I do proclaim and declare that the first election of
Mayor and Councillors of the said borough shall be held on Saturday,
the fourteenth day of April, one thousand nine hundred and forty-five,
and that the first meeting of the Council of the said borough shall be
held on Friday, the twentieth day of April, one thousand nine
hundred and forty-five, at eight o'clock in the afternoon, in the office
of the Town Board, Mount Maunganui.

SCHEDULE
BOROUGH OF MOUNT MAUNGANUI
ALL that area in the Auckland Land District, situated in Blocks VI
and VII, Tauranga Survey District, commencing at a point where
the road forming the southern boundary of Te Awa-o-Tururako
No. 2 Block meets the Tauranga Harbour; thence easterly along
the northern side of the aforesaid road and its production across a
public road to Whareroa No. 2J Block; thence along the north-
western boundary of the last-mentioned block to the Mount
Maunganui Branch line of the East Coast Main Trunk Railway;
thence by a right line across the aforesaid railway and public road
to the southernmost corner of Lot 35 on Plan 6922, deposited in the
office of the District Land Registrar at Auckland; thence along the
road forming the south-eastern boundaries of Lots 35 and 67 on
Plan 6922 aforesaid; across a public road, and along the road forming
the south-eastern and south-western boundaries of Lot 84 on
Plan 6922 aforesaid, and the production of the last-mentioned
boundary across a public road to Omanu No. 2B No. 3 Block; thence
along the western boundary of the last-mentioned block to the sea;
thence north-westerly generally along the coast-line of the Bay of
Plenty and south-easterly generally along the coast-line of the
Tauranga Harbour to the point of commencement.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General
of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued under the Seal
of that Dominion, this 14th day of March, 1945.

A PROCLAMATION
WHEREAS, under the provisions of the Land Act, 1924, the land enumerated in the first column of the Schedule hereto was
temporarily reserved as an endowment for primary education, upon the date specified in the second column of the said Schedule:
And whereas notice of such reservation was laid before both Houses of Parliament: And whereas the two Houses have passed
resolutions, upon the dates specified in the third column, approving, in terms of section three hundred and sixty-two, subsection two, of
the Land Act, 1924, of the land being permanently set aside as an endowment for primary education:
Now, therefore, I, Cyril Louis Norton Newall, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance of the power and
authority conferred upon me by the Land Act, 1924, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land enumerated in the first column of the
Schedule hereto is hereby reserved as an endowment for primary education.
