Notice of Intention of take Land for Post and Telegraph Purposes
in the Borough of Morrinsville

NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions
of the Public Works Act, 1928, to take the land described in
the Schedule hereto for Post and Telegraph purposes: And notice
is hereby further given that the plan of the land so required to be
taken is deposited in the post-office at Morrinsville and is there
open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the taking of
the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to
the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such
writing, within forty days from the 12th day of March, 1945, to
the Minister of Works at Wellington.

SCHEDULE
APPROXIMATE AREA of the piece of land required to be taken: 1 rood.
Being Lot 4 on D.P. 17212, and being portion of the Motumaoho
No. 2 Block.
Situated in the Borough of Morrinsville (Auckland Land
District).
As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked
P.W.D. 120963, deposited in the office of the Minister of Works at
Wellington, and thereon edged red.
As witness my hand at Wellington, this 5th day of March,

Revocation of Suspension of License under the Licensing Act
Emergency Regulations 1940 and Amendments

PURSUANT to Regulation 4 of the Licensing Act Emergency
Regulations 1940, I hereby revoke the suspension of the
publican's license in respect of the licensed premises known as the
Waipapakauri Hotel, situated at Waipapakauri, Mangonui County,
in the Provincial District of Auckland, notice of which was published
in the New Zealand Gazette of 9th July, 1942, at page 1891, and do
certify that this revocation of suspension shall take effect as from
the 1st day of March, 1945.
Dated at Wellington, this 1st day of March, 1945.

The Servicemen's Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943.—Notice
declaring Land taken for the Settlement of Discharged Servicemen
WHEREAS an application has been made for the consent of
the Land Sales Court to a transaction which relates to the
land described in the Schedule hereto and to which Part III of the
Servicemen's Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943, applies:
And whereas the Land Sales Committee to which the application
has been referred is of opinion that the land to which the application
relates is farm land suitable for the settlement of discharged
servicemen:
And whereas the said committee, not being satisfied that the
Crown had decided not to acquire or arrange for the acquisition of
the land, did on the 20th day of October, 1944, make an order
determining the basic value of the land:
And whereas an appeal from the said Order was made within
the time prescribed by the said Act:
And whereas the said appeal was subsequently withdrawn:
And whereas the said land is not the land of any serviceman
who is for the time being serving outside New Zealand in any of
His Majesty's Forces or in any British ship:
Now, therefore, the Minister of Lands, acting in pursuance of
section 51 of the said Act, doth hereby declare that the said land is
taken for the settlement of discharged servicemen, and hereby
specifies the 29th day of March, 1945, as the date on which the said
land shall be deemed to be vested in His Majesty the King.

SCHEDULE
Canterbury Land District
ALL those pieces or parcels of land containing six thousand four
hundred and sixteen (6,416) acres and eighteen and seven-tenths
(18·7) perches, more or less, being parts of Lot 1, Deposited Plan
No. 1931, situated in Blocks V, VI, IX, and X, Lowry Peaks Survey
District, Rural Sections 37263 and 37264, Block X, Lowry Peaks
Survey District, and being the residue of the land comprised in
certificate of title, Vol. 227, folio 286, and all the land comprised
in certificate of title, Vol. 436, folio 244 (Canterbury Registry).
As witness my hand, this 7th day of March, 1945.

Committee

Pursuant to the Bobby Calf Marketing Regulations 1939,

Industrial Man-power Emergency Regulations 1944.—Amendment to
Declaration of Essential Undertakings No. 150
In pursuance of the powers conferred upon him by Regulation 11
of the Industrial Man-power Emergency Regulations 1944, the
Hon. the Minister of Industrial Man-power doth hereby amend the
Declaration of Essential Undertakings No. 150 by deleting therefrom
the words—
“R. D. Young, at Christchurch,
“The Treasury Box (Mrs. O. A. Young), at Christchurch,”
and by substituting therefor the words—
“Lane, Walker, Rudkin, Ltd., at Christchurch.”

Engineers Registration Act, 1924.—Annual Practising Certificates
Forms of application for annual practising certificates, to be
issued under Section 3 of the Engineers Registration Amendment Act, 1944, will be available to registered engineers as from
20th March, 1945. Forms will be obtainable until 31st March
from any Public Works District Office or District Electrical Office
outside of Wellington or direct from the Registrar, Engineers
Registration Board, 8 The Terrace, Wellington C. 1. The names
of engineers requiring forms must be submitted with the request.
Notice is also given of the change of address of the Board's
office to the Employers' Federation Building, 8 The Terrace,
Wellington.

Taking of Fish for Sale
V. N. Wells, Wakatahuri, Pelorus Sounds, has applied for a
variation of his existing license in respect of the fishing-vessel
“Roma,” so as to permit him to operate his 29 ft. 15 h.p. fishing-
vessel “Matai” (not yet registered), using set-nets, drag-nets, long
lines, and hand-lines, catches to be landed at French Pass.
A. R. Cornes, Pollen Street, Thames, has applied for a variation
of his existing license in respect of the “Ajar,” so as to permit him
to operate the 33 ft. 36 h.p. fishing-vessel “Defender” (not yet
registered), using set-nets, drag-nets, long lines, hand-lines, and
crayfish-pots, catches to be landed at Tairua.
J. R. Buckland, Paremata, has applied for a variation of his
existing license in respect of the fishing-vessel “Kate,” WN. 367,
using set-nets, drag-nets, long lines, hand-lines, and crayfish-pots,
catches to be landed at Paremata, so as to permit him to change his
port of landing to French Pass.
W. S. Caldwell, Whitianga, has applied for a license to permit
him to operate his 33 ft. 28 h.p. fishing-vessel “Gloria” (not yet
registered), using set-nets, long lines, hand-lines, and crayfish-pots,
catches to be landed at Whitianga and Thames.
L. G. Braid, Waikawa, Southland, has applied for a license to
permit him to operate his 48 ft. 25 h.p. fishing-vessel “Progress”
(not yet registered), using trawl-nets, long lines, and hand-lines,
catches to be landed at Waikawa.
H. Hitchon, Tauranga, has applied for a license to permit him
to operate his 53 ft. 66 h.p. vessel “Eva” (not yet registered),
using drag-nets, long lines, and hand-lines, catches to be landed at
Tauranga.

Radio-manufacturing Industry
A. Jeffreys, 3 Tudor Street, Devonport, Auckland, has applied
for a license to manufacture radio receiving-sets.

Manufacture for Sale of Footwear
S. Button and Son, 46 Upper Queen Street, Auckland, have
applied for permission to use the cemented process in the manufacture
of sandals.
Burnett, James, Ltd., Cobden Street, Newton, Auckland, have
applied for an extension of their existing license so as to permit the
manufacture of women's footwear by the welted process.
S. N. Bickerton, 91 Newton Road, Auckland, has applied for
permission to manufacture sandals by the cemented and stapled
processes, and also clogs.
Persons considering themselves materially affected by the
decision of the Bureau of Industry on these applications should make
any desired representations in writing not later than the 22nd March,
1945, to G. L. O'Halloran, Secretary, Bureau of Industry, G.P.O.
Box 3025, Wellington.
