The War Assets Realization Board.—44-Gallon Drums for Sale
THE War Assets Realization Board have for disposal approximately 21,200 heavy galvanized 44-gallon drums located as follows (numbers approximate): Auckland 8,100, Waiouru 1,500, Trentham 1,500, Wellington 6,000, Christchurch 4,100. To be sold in lots of 250 or multiples by tenders closing 28th February, 1945, with the War Assets Realization Board, Wellington.
Conditions of tender and specification of drums obtainable from Board’s Office, Bunny Street, Wellington. Postal address, P.O. Box 5080, Wellington.
Drums may be inspected on application to Assistant Director of Supplies and Transport, Army Department, Auckland (telephone 49-824), Wellington (telephone 57-200), Christchurch (telephone 38-289), where full details are available.
Highest or any tender not necessarily accepted. Delivery will be given ex stores from the stack as they stand; no selection of any particular lot will be allowed; no warranty or guarantee as to condition is implied or given, and tenderers must satisfy themselves as to suitability and condition of drums.
CROWN LANDS NOTICE
Land in Canterbury Land District for Selection on Renewable Lease
District Lands and Survey Office,
Christchurch, 14th February, 1945.
NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned property is open for selection on renewable lease under the Land Act, 1924, and applications will be received at the District Lands and Survey Office, Christchurch, up to 4 p.m. on Monday, 12th March, 1945.
Applicants should appear personally for examination at the District Lands and Survey Office, Christchurch, on Tuesday, 13th March, 1945, at 10.30 o’clock a.m., but if any applicant is unable to attend he may be examined by any other Land Board or by any Commissioner of Crown Lands. Applicants are required to produce documentary evidence of their financial position and farming experience.
The ballot will be held immediately upon conclusion of the examination of applicants, and the successful applicant is required to pay immediately at conclusion of ballot a deposit comprising the first half-year’s rent, broken-period rent, lease fee, and amount in reduction of weighting for improvements.
SCHEDULE
CANTERBURY LAND DISTRICT.—TOWN LAND
Oxford County.—Alford Survey District
RESERVE 155, Block VIII: Area, 5 acres. Capital value, £125; half-yearly rent, £3 2s. 6d.
Weighted with £345 for improvements, comprising dwelling, with office attached, six rooms and bathroom, hot and cold water, porcelain bath and basin, shed, and fencing. This sum is payable in cash, or, after payment of a deposit of £75, the balance may be repaid by a loading on the lease for a term of twenty years with half-yearly instalments of principal and interest amounting to £10 15s. 2d.
The property comprises a corner section situated on Main Street, Oxford. The land is suitable for grazing, and the property generally would make a good depot for a contractor.
