Land in Taranaki Land District for Selection on Optional Tenures
District Lands and Survey Office,
New Plymouth, 11th October, 1944.
NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned sections are open for selection on optional tenures under the Land Act, 1924; and applications will be received at the District Lands and Survey Office, New Plymouth, up to 4 o’clock p.m. on Monday, 20th November, 1944.
Applicants should appear personally for examination at the District Lands and Survey Office, New Plymouth, on Wednesday, 22nd November, 1944, at 10.30 o’clock a.m., but if any applicant is unable to attend he may be examined by any other Land Board or by any Commissioner of Crown Lands.
Applicants are required to produce for inspection when examined documentary evidence of their financial position and farming experience.
The ballot will be held immediately upon conclusion of the examination of applicants, and the successful applicant is required to pay immediately at conclusion of ballot a deposit comprising the first half-year’s rent, broken-period rent, lease and mortgage fees, and deposit on account of improvement loading.
SCHEDULE
TARANAKI LAND DISTRICT.—SECOND-CLASS LAND
Waitomo County.—Mapara Survey District
SECTIONS 13 and 28, Block XI: Area, 520 acres. Capital value, £385. Deposit on deferred payments (term: 34½ years), £20. Half-yearly instalment on deferred payments, £11 17s. 3d. Renewable lease: half-yearly rent, £7 14s.
Weighted with £818 16s. 2d. for improvements, comprising dwelling, cow-byre, garage, yards, 447 chains fencing, shelter-belts, bridges, 270 acres felled and grassed, 80 acres cultivated. This sum is payable in cash, or, after payment of a deposit of £28 6s. 2d., the balance may be left on first mortgage to the State Advances Corporation for a term of thirty years repayable by half-yearly instalments of principal and interest of £24 9s. 8d. each. Cost of preparation of mortgage, £2, payable by selector.
This is a grazing property, on which a small herd could be milked, situated on the Taumarunui–Te Kuiti Road, two miles from Mapiu Post-office and School, and eleven miles from Kopaki Railway-station and Saleyards; cream collected at property. Access is by metalled road. Approximately 80 acres ploughed and regrassed, balance fairly steep country reverted to fern and scrub. The soil is light loam on sandstone formation; watered by streams. The property is subdivided into fourteen paddocks. Ragwort is fairly prevalent.

SECTIONS 37, 65, 66, and 67, Block VI: Area, 28 acres 0 roods 32 perches. Capital value, £235. Renewable lease: half-yearly rent, £5 17s. 6d.
Weighted with £138 (payable in cash) for improvements, comprising felling, grassing, and fencing.
These sections, which are all adjoining, have a frontage to Alexandra Road, in the Borough of Raetihi, about one mile from Raetihi Post-office and half a mile from the school. Sections are generally undulating, Section 67 rising to a steep tableland. Sections 65 and 66 are watered by a spring.

LAND TRANSFER ACT NOTICES
APPLICATION having been made to me for the issue of a provisional lease in perpetuity in the name of JAMES PIRIE GRANT, of Napier, Stonemason, for all that parcel of land containing twenty-four (24) acres three (3) roods and eleven (11) perches, more or less, being Section 22, Block XIV, Waipukurau Survey District, and comprising all the land in certificate of title, H.B. Vol. thirty-seven (37), folio seventy-four (74), Hawke’s Bay Registry, and evidence having been lodged of the loss or destruction of the said lease in perpetuity, I hereby give notice that I will issue the provisional lease in perpetuity as requested after fourteen days from the date of the Gazette containing this notice.
