NELSON CITY COUNCIL
NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND
NOTICE is hereby given that the Nelson City Council proposes to take, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1928, as an area for refuse disposal purposes, the land described in the First Schedule hereto: And notice is hereby further given that the Nelson City Council proposes to take, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1928, for the purpose of widening Weka Street in the City of Nelson, the land described in the Second Schedule hereto.
Plans of the lands so proposed to be taken are deposited in the public offices of the City Council, situate in Trafalgar Street, Nelson, and are open for inspection without fee by all persons during ordinary office hours.
All persons affected are hereby required and called upon to set forth in writing any well-grounded objections to the taking of such lands, and to send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Town Clerk, Nelson City Council, Nelson.
FIRST SCHEDULE
16 acres 2 roods 35 perches, being part Section 1, Suburban North, in Block IX, Wakapuaka Survey District (coloured red).
20 acres 1 rood 5 perches, being parts of Sections 1, 2, 3, 7, 8, and 9, Block H, Wakatu, in the City of Nelson (coloured red).
1 acre and 13 perches, being parts of Sections 8 and 9, Block H, Wakatu, in the City of Nelson (coloured yellow).
SECOND SCHEDULE
1 acre and 13 perches, parts of Sections 1 and 8, Block H, Wakatu, and part Section 254, City of Nelson (coloured blue).

CHRISTCHURCH CITY COUNCIL
NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND
In the matter of the Public Works Act, 1928, and the Acts amending the same.
NOTICE is hereby given that the Mayor, Councillors, and Citizens of the City of Christchurch, a body corporate under the Municipal Corporations Act, 1933, proposes to take, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1928, and its amendments, for the purposes of street widening, all that parcel of land situated in the City of Christchurch containing six perches and six-tenths of a perch, being part of Rural Section 148, and being that part of the land comprised in certificate of title, Vol. 112, folio 156, more particularly shown coloured brown on a plan lodged in the office of the Chief Surveyor at Christchurch and thereon numbered S.P. 7533:
And notice is hereby further given that a plan showing the land required to be taken and the names of the owners and occupiers of such land is deposited at the offices of the Town Clerk of the City of Christchurch, where it lies open for public inspection daily without fee during all reasonable hours; and that all persons affected shall, if they have any objections to the taking of such land, set forth in writing such objection, and send such writing, within forty days from the date of the first publication of such notice, being the 12th day of February, 1944, addressed to the Town Clerk, Christchurch, at the offices of the Christchurch City Council, Manchester Street, Christchurch.

TAURANGA COUNTY COUNCIL
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
Plant Loan, 1943, £15,000
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1926, the Tauranga County Council hereby resolves as follows:-
"That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of fifteen thousand pounds, authorized to be raised by the Tauranga County Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of purchasing essential roading plant for use in the county and for the attendant accommodation for housing same, the said Tauranga County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of seven-twelfths of one penny (7/12d.) in the pound on the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of
all the rateable property in the County of Tauranga; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable half-yearly on the 1st day of May and November in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of seven years or until the loan is fully paid off."
I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was duly passed at a meeting of the Tauranga County Council held on the 4th day of February, 1944.

MANAWATU-OROUA RIVER BOARD
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1926, and any amendments thereto respectively, and of all other powers (if any) it thereunto enabling, the Manawatu-Oroua River Board hereby resolves as follows:-
"That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of four thousand pounds (£4,000), authorized to be raised by the Manawatu-Oroua River Board under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of meeting the cost of flood-damage repairs and spillway construction, the said Manawatu-Oroua River Board makes and levies a special rate of 3d. per acre on the whole of the Board's rateable property in their area; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable yearly on the 10th of July in every year during the currency of the said loan for a period of seven years, or until the loan is fully paid off."
We hereby certify that the above is a true copy of and a correct extract from the minutes of proceedings of the Manawatu-Oroua River Board at the meeting held on Thursday, 20th January, 1944.

I, BARRINGTON GRAHAM COLEMAN, formerly BARRINGTON GRAHAM CAMPBELL, of Wairoa, Hawke's Bay, New Zealand, Clerk, at present an Aircraftsman of the R.N.Z.A.F., having been exempted from the provisions of the Change of Name Emergency Regulations 1939 by Warrant under the hand of the Honourable Minister of Internal Affairs under date the 19th day of January, 1944, hereby give public notice that on the 27th day of January, 1944, by deed-poll dated the 27th day of January, 1944, and enrolled in the Napier Registry of the Supreme Court of New Zealand under No. 1630/1944, I formally and absolutely renounced, relinquished, and abandoned the use of my said surname of Campbell and then assumed and adopted and determined thenceforth on all occasions whatsoever to use and subscribe the surname of Coleman.
