Price Order No. 274 (Amending Price Order No. 254)

(Condensed Milk)

Pursuant to the powers conferred on it by the Control of Prices Emergency Regulations 1939,* the Price Tribunal, acting with the authority of the Minister of Industries and Commerce, doth hereby make the following amending Price Order:-

  1. This Order may be cited as Price Order No. 274, and shall be read together with and deemed part of Price Order No. 254† (hereinafter referred to as "the principal Order").

  2. This Order shall come into force on the 18th day of September, 1944.

  1. Clause 6 of the principal Order is hereby amended by adding thereto the following subclause:—
    “(2) Notwithstanding anything in the foregoing provisions of this clause and subject to such conditions, if any, as it thinks fit, the Tribunal, on application by any retailer, may authorize special maximum retail prices in respect of any condensed milk to which this Order applies where for any reason extraordinary freight charges are incurred by the retailer in obtaining delivery from the source of supply nearest or most convenient of access to him. Any authority given by the Tribunal under this subclause may apply with respect to a specified lot or consignment of condensed milk or may relate generally to all condensed milk to which this Order applies sold by the retailer while the approval remains in force.”

Price Order No. 275 (Amending Price Order No. 142) (Apples and Pears)

Pursuant to the powers conferred on it by the Control of Prices Emergency Regulations 1939,* the Price Tribunal, acting with the authority of the Minister of Industries and Commerce, doth hereby make the following amending Price Order:-

  1. This Order may be cited as Price Order No. 275, and shall be read together with and deemed part of Price Order No. 142† (hereinafter referred to as "the principal Order").

  2. This Order shall come into force on the 18th day of September, 1944.

  3. The First Schedule to the principal Order, as set out in Price Order No. 270‡, is hereby revoked, and the following Schedule substituted therefor:--
