HIS Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to approve of the following appointments, promotions, relinquishments of temporary rank, relinquishments of commissions, and retirements of officers of the New Zealand Military Forces:—

N.Z. STAFF CORPS

Major R. J. Eyre to be temp. Lieutenant-Colonel whilst holding the appointment of Commandant of a Camp. Dated 14th February, 1944.

Major (temp. Brigadier) W. G. Gentry, D.S.O., O.B.E., relinquishes the temporary rank of Brigadier on being seconded to the 2nd N.Z. Expeditionary Force. Dated 21st July, 1944.

N.Z. TEMPORARY STAFF

Temp. Captain E. N. Valentine, N.Z. Ordnance Corps, to be temp. Lieutenant. Dated 21st June, 1944.

NZ 2309 Michael Arnold Poulton, on relinquishing his commission in the Reserve of Air Force Officers (United Kingdom), is granted a temporary commission in the rank of Squadron Leader, with seniority as from the 1st June, 1942. Dated 1st July, 1944.

NZ 2308 Thomas Francis GILL, D.S.O., whose Short-service Commission expired on the 16th August, 1944, is granted a temporary commission in the rank of Squadron Leader, with seniority as from the 1st January, 1944. Dated 17th August, 1944.

NZ 2034 Leslie James DOMIGAN, on relinquishing his commission in the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve, is granted a temporary commission in the rank of Flying Officer, with seniority as from the 5th September, 1943. Dated 15th December, 1943.
