NOTICE is hereby given in pursuance of the Regulations Act, 1936, of the making of regulations and orders as under :-

The Meat Rationing Notice 1944
PURSUANT to the Rationing Emergency Regulations 1942 (hereinafter referred to as the regulations), the Rationing Controller hereby gives the following directions :-

  1. This notice may be cited as the Meat Rationing Notice 1944.
  2. Where any meat is produced by the slaughter of stock in any place other than a slaughterhouse registered or licensed under the Meat Act, 1939, and any farmer or other person is authorized under the regulations to supply that meat for consumption in his own household without the surrender or cancellation of any coupons-
    (a) He shall not supply or cause or permit any other person to supply any of that meat as aforesaid for consumption by himself or any other member of his household unless the person to whom it is supplied has deposited with a Rationing Officer all ordinary meat coupons issued to him; and
    (b) No member of the household shall accept any of that meat for consumption as aforesaid unless he has deposited with a Rationing Officer all ordinary meat coupons issued to him.

    Note.-Upon the deposit by any person of coupons with a Rationing Officer as aforesaid, the Rationing Officer, where necessary, will issue to the depositor an acknowledgment of receipt of the coupons and a special permit which will enable the depositor to purchase supplies of meat from a butcher to supplement supplies secured from stock slaughtered on the farm and to obtain such emergency meat coupons for hotel and restaurant meals as may be required.

NEWALL, Governor-General ORDER IN COUNCIL At the Government House at Wellington, this 23rd day of August, 1944 Present : HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL PURSUANT to the Harbours Act, 1923, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, doth hereby vest in the Hutt County Council (hereinafter called "the Council," which term shall include its successors and assigns unless the context requires a different construction), the control of those parts of the foreshore in Porirua Harbour, as defined in the First Schedule hereto, for the purpose of the use of the said foreshore for a term of twenty-one years computed from the first day of July, one thousand nine hundred and forty-four, such grant to be held and enjoyed by the Council upon and subject to the terms and conditions set forth in the Second Schedule hereto.
    FIRST SCHEDULE
    THAT portion of the foreshore commencing at the northern boundary of Section 80, Block VIII, Paekakariki Survey District, being a point approximately midway between Plimmerton Township and Walker's Point, and extending southwards to the said Walker's Point, and thence eastwards along the northern shore of the Pahautanui Arm of the Porirua Harbour to the mouth of the Pahautanui River.
