IT is hereby publicly notified that at the election held on the 19th July, 1944, the following votes were received by the respective candidates :—

The only nominations received for the vacancy in the Nelson Urban Area was that of Harry Barltrop and in the West Ward that of William Henderson McIntyre.

I therefore declare Harry Barltrop, Bertrand Charles Maurice Spiers, Frederick Allan Hamilton, and William Henderson McIntyre duly elected.

Details: The flashing white light on the above beacon has been temporarily replaced by a fixed white light of low power.

Appointment of Deputy District Public Trustee

NOTICE is hereby given that, in pursuance of the power and authority vested in me by section 3 of the Public Trust Office Amendment Act, 1921–22, I, the Public Trustee of the Dominion of New Zealand, have appointed Harold William George Wilson, of the Public Trust Office, New Plymouth, to be deputy of the District Public Trustee, New Plymouth, during the absence of such District Public Trustee from his headquarters from any cause, and all previous Warrants appointing any deputy of the said District Public Trustee have been revoked.
