The Clothing Rationing Coupon Notice 1944
Pursuant to the Rationing Emergency Regulations 1942,*
the Rationing Controller hereby gives the following
directions:-

1. This notice may be cited as the Clothing Rationing Coupon
   Notice 1944.
2. The notices specified in the First Schedule hereto are hereby
   revoked.
3. The appropriate number of coupons required for the supply
   of any rationed goods specified in the Second Schedule hereto shall
   be as indicated in that Schedule :
   Provided that one-half of the number of coupons so indicated
   shall be required-
   (a) For second-hand articles (other than garments) when sold
   at a price at least 25 per cent. lower than the corresponding
   price of new articles:
   (b) For damaged, shop-soiled, or imperfect goods (other than
   women's hosiery) if they are clearly marked as such when
   offered for sale, and if the price is reduced by at least
   25 per cent. These goods must not be advertised or
   publicly displayed.
4. No coupons shall be required for the supply of any rationed
   goods specified in the Third Schedule hereto.
5. Coupons of the classes specified in the Fourth Schedule
   hereto shall be available for the supply of rationed goods as indicated
   in that Schedule.
6. Every trader licensed as a retailer of goods declared to be
   rationed goods by the Clothing Rationing Order 1942t shall, within
   seven days after the end of each calendar month, furnish to the
   Rationing Controller a return in the form prescribed by the Controller
   of all coupons and permits surrendered to the trader in respect of
   sales of such goods made during the month, and shall either--
   (a) Forward the coupons and permits to the Controller together
   with the return; or
   (b) With the prior consent of the Controller, attach to each
   duplicate sales docket the coupons or permits surrendered
   in respect of the sale to which the docket relates.
