Notice to Persons affected by Applications for Licenses under Part III
of the Industrial Efficiency Act, 1936

Taking of Fish for Sale

L. B. Garbes, Torquay Street, Kaikoura, has applied for a
license to permit him to operate the fishing-vessel “Vitesse,”
WN. 309, using set-nets, drag-nets, long lines, hand-lines, and
crayfish-pots, catches to be landed at Kaikoura.

Manufacture of Rope and Twine

Messrs. Frank and Bryce, Ltd., 86 Wakefield Street, Wellington,
have applied for a license to engage in New Zealand in the spinning
of flax, hemp, and jute yarns, and the manufacture therefrom of
threads and twines, also in the manufacture of threads and twines
from cotton yarn.

Persons considering themselves materially affected by the
decisions of the Bureau of Industry on these applications should
make any desired representations in writing not later than the
10th February, 1944, to G. L. O’Halloran, Secretary, Bureau of
Industry, G.P.O. Box 3025, Wellington.

New Position: 014° 10 cables from Ahuriri Bluff Trig. in
lat. 39° 28′·7 S., long. 176° 55′·2 E. (approx.).
Details: The light-buoy has been shifted 014° about 400 ft.
to the above position.

Notice to Mariners No. 2 of 1944

Wellington, N.Z., 25th January, 1944.

NEW ZEALAND.—SOUTH ISLAND.—OAMARU
Alterations in Harbour Light

Position: South Head. Lat., 45° 07′ S.; long., 170° 59′ E.
(approx.).
Abridged Description: Fl. 6 sec. 163 ft. 10 M. (U).
Details: A new light will be exhibited on the 4th February
about 24 ft. in a south-easterly direction from the existing light
at an elevation of 163 ft. The light, which is housed in a small
white concrete structure 8 ft. high, will show a white flash every
six seconds—flash 1 sec. eclipse 5 sec.
NOTE.—Visibility and arc of visibility remain unchanged.

Sale of Unclaimed Property

police at the various police-stations will, if not claimed before
Saturday, the 12th February, 1944, be sold thereafter by public
auction.
