approve of the following appointments, promotions, relinquishments of temporary rank, relinquishments of commissions,
and retirements of officers of the New Zealand Military Forces:—

N.Z. STAFF CORPS

Temp. Major (Acting unpaid Lieutenant-Colonel) J. D. Armstrong relinquishes the acting unpaid rank of Lieutenant-Colonel,
and is granted the temporary rank of Lieutenant-Colonel whilst
holding the appointment of a Camp Commandant. Dated 13th
January, 1944.

N.Z. TEMPORARY STAFF

Temp. Captain H. E. Wright, B.Sc. (Eng.), A.M.Inst.C.E.,
A.C.G.I., relinquishes his commission on appointment to the Indian
Army. Dated 3rd January, 1944.

Temp. Lieutenant B. J. Hanna to be temp. Captain. Dated
8th January, 1944.

Temp. Lieutenant F. A. Marriott to be temp. Captain. Dated
15th January, 1944.

seconded to the 2nd New Zealand Expeditionary Force. Dated
5th January, 1944.

N.Z. ARTILLERY

Temp. Captain H. W. Revell relinquishes his commission on
appointment to the Royal N.Z. Navy. Dated 25th November,
1943.

Temp. Lieutenant K. J. Palmer to be temp. Captain, and remains seconded. Dated 13th December, 1943.

Temp. Lieutenant D. W. Alexander to be temp. Captain.
Dated 9th January, 1944.

With reference to the notice published in the New Zealand
Gazette No. 94, dated 28th October, 1943, relative to reporting to the
Retired List of temp. Lieutenant-Colonel N. L. Vickerman, for
“ Dated 5th October, 1943,” substitute “ Dated 18th October, 1943.”

Temp. Lieutenant-Colonel V. A. Murphy relinquishes the temporary rank of Lieutenant-Colonel on relinquishing the appointment
of C.R.E. of a Division, and assumes the temporary rank of Major.
Dated 24th December, 1943.

Temp. Lieutenant F. L. Watts relinquishes his commission on
appointment to the Indian Army. Dated 3rd January, 1944.

N.Z. CORPS OF SIGNALS

Temp. Lieutenant A. R. G. Clayton relinquishes the temporary
rank of Lieutenant on relinquishing the appointment of Adjutant,
and assumes the temporary rank of 2nd Lieutenant. Dated 9th

The Auckland Regiment (Countess of Ranfurly’s Own)

Captain J. B. Rowe relinquishes his commission on appointment
to a commission in the Royal N.Z. Air Force. Dated 1st March,

appointment to a commission in the Royal N.Z. Air Force. Dated

Temp. Captain H. D. Wilson relinquishes his commission on
appointment to a commission in the Royal N.Z. Air Force. Dated

The North Auckland Regiment

Temp. Major (Acting Lieutenant-Colonel) A. D. Copeland relinquishes the acting rank of Lieutenant-Colonel on being seconded to
the 2nd New Zealand Expeditionary Force. Dated 5th January,
1944.

Temp. Captain L. W. Reid relinquishes his commission on
appointment to a commission in the Royal N.Z. Air Force. Dated
1st March, 1943.

The Wellington Regiment (City of Wellington’s Own)

Temp. Lieutenant W. R. Maiden to be temp. Captain, and
remains seconded. Dated 1st December, 1943.

The Hawke’s Bay Regiment
