Price Order No. 234 (Amending Price Order No. 121) (Honey)

PURSUANT to the powers conferred on it by the Control of Prices Emergency Regulations 1939,* the Price Tribunal, acting with the authority of the Minister of Industries and Commerce, doth hereby make the following amending Price Order:—

  1. This Order may be cited as Price Order No. 234, and shall be read together with and deemed part of Price Order No. 121† (hereinafter referred to as “the principal Order”).

  2. This Order shall come into force on the 22nd day of May, 1944.

  3. The Schedule to the principal Order is hereby amended by inserting, before the reference to 5 lb. tins in the first column of the said Schedule, a reference to 2½ lb. glass jars, and by inserting opposite the said reference in the second, third, and fourth columns respectively references to the following prices, namely:—

“27 6 per dozen. 31 0 per dozen. 3 1 per jar.”

Price Order No. 235 (Amending Price Order No. 221 as to Poultry)

PURSUANT to the powers conferred on it by the Control of Prices Emergency Regulations 1939,* the Price Tribunal, acting with the authority of the Minister of Industries and Commerce, doth hereby make the following amending Price Order:—

  1. This Order may be cited as Price Order No. 235, and shall be read together with and deemed part of Price Order No. 221† (hereinafter referred to as “the principal Order”).

  2. This Order shall come into force on the 19th day of May, 1944.

  3. (1) Clause 2 of the principal Order is hereby amended by revoking the final paragraph (c) thereof (set out under the heading “General to all Classes of Poultry”), and substituting the following paragraph:—

“(c) The description ‘plucked and drawn’ means poultry from which the feathers, head, shanks, and internal organs have been removed, and applies to all such poultry whether trussed or not.”

(2) The Schedule to the principal Order is hereby consequently amended by omitting the words “Plucked, drawn, and trussed” from the headings of the two subcolumns in which those words occur, and substituting in each case the words “Plucked and drawn.”

Price Order No. 236 (Amending Price Order No. 196) (Main Crop Potatoes)

PURSUANT to the powers conferred on it by the Control of Prices Emergency Regulations 1939,* the Price Tribunal, acting with the authority of the Minister of Industries and Commerce, doth hereby make the following amending Price Order:—

  1. (1) This Order may be cited as Price Order No. 236, and shall be read together with and deemed part of Price Order No. 196† (hereinafter referred to as “the principal Order”).

(2) This Order shall come into force on the 19th day of May, 1944.

APPLICATION OF THIS ORDER

  1. This Order applies with respect to under-grade potatoes which, being subject to the principal Order, are sold for delivery at any time after the commencement of this Order, and on or before the 30th day of June, 1944.

MODIFICATION OF PRINCIPAL ORDER WITH RESPECT TO POTATOES TO WHICH THIS ORDER APPLIES

  1. (1) In its application to potatoes to which this Order applies, clause 10 of the principal Order (fixing growers’ prices) shall be read subject to the following provisions of this clause, namely:—

(a) For under-grade Sutton’s Supreme or King Edward potatoes grown in the South Island, the maximum price shall be £7 5s. per ton f.o.b.s.i. a port in the South Island:

(b) For under-grade potatoes of any other variety grown in the South Island, the maximum price shall be £6 15s. per ton f.o.b.s.i. a port in the South Island:

(c) For under-grade potatoes grown in the North Island, the maximum price shall be £9 per ton f.o.r.s.i. the grower’s station.

(2) Subclause (2) of clause 10 of the principal Order is hereby amended by inserting, after the words “the last preceding sub-clause”, the words “for f.a.q. potatoes”.

(3) Nothing in the foregoing provisions of this clause shall affect the operation of subclauses (4), (5), and (6) of clause 10 of the principal Order.
