Appointment of Deputy District Public Trustee
NOTICE is hereby given that, in pursuance of the power and
authority vested in me by section 3 of the Public Trust Office
Amendment Act, 1921–22, I, the Public Trustee of the Dominion of
New Zealand, have appointed Raymond William Hope, of the Public
Trust Office, Hastings, to be deputy of the District Public Trustee,
Hastings, during the absence of such District Public Trustee from
his headquarters from any cause, and all previous Warrants
appointing any deputy of the said District Public Trustee have been
revoked.

Notice respecting proposed Constitution of Town District of Ohai,
County of Wallace
Department of Internal Affairs,
Wellington, 5th May, 1944.
IT is hereby notified that a petition has been presented to His
Excellency the Governor-General under the Town Boards Act,
1908, and amendments, praying that the area described in the
Schedule hereto may be constituted as the Ohai Town District.
All persons affected are hereby called upon to lodge any written
objections to or petitions against the proposed constitution of such
district which they desire to lodge within one month from the first
publication of this notice, such objections or petitions to be addressed
to the Minister of Internal Affairs, Wellington.
SCHEDULE
AREA PROPOSED TO BE CONSTITUTED AS THE TOWN DISTRICT OF OHAI
ALL that area in the County of Wallace, Southland Land District,
and bounded as follows : Commencing at the south-east corner of
Lot Twenty-two (22), Deposited Plan No. 1289, Section Ninety-four
(94), Block Three (III), Wairio Survey District ; thence in a westerly
direction along the boundary of the said Lot Twenty-two (22) to
the south-west corner thereof ; thence in a northerly direction along
the boundary of the said Lot Twenty-two (22) to a point twenty
chains distant from the centre-line of the Main Birchwood Road ;
thence in a north-westerly direction by a series of right lines parallel
to and twenty chains distant from the centre-line of the said Main
Birchwood Road to a point due south of the south-west corner of
Lot Eighteen (18), Deposited Plan No. 1289 ; thence by a right line
in a northerly direction to and across the Main Birchwood Road to
the said south-west corner of Lot Eighteen (18) ; thence in a north-
westerly direction along the boundary of said Lot Eighteen (18) to a
point on the northern boundary of the said Birchwood–Ohai Railway
Reserve ; thence in a south-easterly direction along the boundary
of the said Railway Reserve to a point twenty chains distant from
the centre-line of the Main Birchwood Road ; thence firstly in a
south-easterly direction and later in a north-easterly direction by a
series of right lines parallel to and twenty chains distant from the
centre-line of the said Main Birchwood Road to a point on the
eastern boundary of Lot Twenty (20), Deposited Plan No. 1289 ;
thence in a north-easterly direction by a right line to the south-west
corner of part Lot One (1), Deposited Plan No. 2674 ; thence in a
south-easterly direction by a right-line to the intersection of the
south-eastern side of the Main Ohai–Nightcaps Road with the north-
eastern boundary of the Ohai–Wairio Railway Reserve ; thence in
a south-easterly direction along the boundary of the said Ohai–Wairio
Railway Reserve to a point in line with the south-east boundary of
Lot Two (2), Deposited Plan No. 2746 ; thence in a south-westerly
direction across the said Railway Reserve and along the south-east
boundary of the said Lot Two (2) to the southernmost corner thereof ;
thence in a north-westerly direction along the boundary of the said
Lot Two (2) to the south-eastern side of York Street ; thence in a
south-westerly direction along the south-eastern side of York Street
to the south-west corner thereof ; thence in a south-westerly direction
by a right line to the south-east corner of Lot One (1), Deposited
Plan No. 2458 ; thence in a westerly direction along the southern
boundary of the said Lot One (1) to the south-west corner thereof ;
thence in a southerly direction along the eastern boundary of Lot
Twenty-two (22), Deposited Plan No. 1289, to the commencing point.

Exemption Order under the Transport Legislation Emergency
Regulations 1940
PURSUANT to the Transport Legislation Emergency Regula-
tions 1940, the Minister of Transport doth hereby order and
declare that the provisions of clause (1) of Regulation 7 of the
Motor-drivers Regulations 1940, so far as they relate to the driving
of heavy trade motors, shall not apply to the persons hereinafter
mentioned, but in lieu thereof the following provision shall apply :—
A motor-driver’s license issued under the Motor-drivers Regula-
tions 1940 to any one of the persons described in Column 1 of the
Schedule hereunder may authorize him to drive a heavy trade
motor for the purpose of the business of the respective employer
described in Column 2 of the said Schedule, but shall not authorize
him, while he is under the age of eighteen years, to drive a heavy
trade motor for any other purpose.

PURSUANT to the Transport Legislation Emergency Regulations
1940, the Minister of Transport doth hereby order and declare

Consenting to the Sale by the Otago Electric-power Board of certain
Land in accordance with the Electric-power Boards Act, 1925
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred
upon me by section 92 of the Electric-power Boards Act, 1925,
and of every other power in anywise enabling me in this behalf,
I, Robert Semple, Minister of Works, do hereby consent to the sale
by the Otago Electric-power Board of the land described in the
Schedule hereto, such land being no longer required for the electric
works for which it was acquired. This consent is in substitution
for the consent published in the Gazette No. 23 of 23rd March, 1944,
at page 282, in which the description is incorrect.
SCHEDULE
APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land authorized to be sold :
10·8 perches.
Being Allotment 81, Block IV, D.P. 59, being part Section 131.
