$\begin{aligned}& \text{(d) No person shall in any place during the period in that} \& \text{place of the open season, hereby declared, use in connection with} \& \text{the taking or killing of imported and/or native game, any form of} \& \text{decoying game by the aid of corn, wheat, oats, barley, maize, or} \& \text{any other grain or any products of grain or any other food placed} \& \text{by any person in or near the margin of any river, stream, lagoon,} \& \text{pond, swamp, estuary, or other water.} \& \text{3. No person shall use or cause to be used any motor-vehicle} \& \text{in connection with the taking or killing of imported game and/or} \& \text{native game: Provided that this condition shall not be so construed} \& \text{as to prohibit the use of any motor-vehicle for the purpose of} \& \text{travelling either generally or to or from a rendezvous.} \& \text{4. No person shall use or cause to be used for the purpose of} \& \text{taking or killing any imported or native game any unmoored floating} \& \text{stand, pontoon, hide, mai-mai, or loo, or any boat artificially dressed} \& \text{or covered in any way.} \& \text{5. No person engaged in shooting from any shelter, mai-mai,} \& \text{mudhole, boat, louvre, or other contrivance shall use more than one} \& \text{gun: Provided that a person so engaged may have a second gun} \& \text{in a condition not immediately suitable for use, and held for use} \& \text{only in the event of the first gun becoming damaged or otherwise} \& \text{unfit for use.} \& \text{ACCLIMATIZATION DISTRICTS} \& \text{ASHBURTON ACCLIMATIZATION DISTRICT} \& \text{(As described in the New Zealand Gazette No. 68 of the 28th} \& \text{September, 1933, at page 2463.)} \& \text{1. Season for Californian quail and chukor: 6th May to 31st} \& \text{July, 1944 (both days inclusive).} \& \text{2. Season for grey duck, mallard duck, spoonbill duck, paradise} \& \text{duck, pukeko, and black swan: 6th May to 28th May, 1944 (both} \& \text{days inclusive).} \& \text{3. Licenses to take or kill the above imported game and native} \& \text{game within the Ashburton Acclimatization District will be issued} \& \text{to any person on payment of the sum of twenty shillings (20s.)} \& \text{each, and licenses to take or kill the above native game only within} \& \text{the said district will be issued to any person on payment of the sum} \& \text{of ten shillings (10s.) each; and the Secretary of the Ashburton} \& \text{Acclimatization Society, or any person authorized by such Secretary} \& \text{in that behalf, is hereby authorized to sign and issue the said licenses.} \& \text{4. No person shall in any one day take or kill more than} \& \text{(a) Twenty head of Californian quail;} \& \text{(b) Ten head of chukor;} \& \text{(c) Ten head of mallard duck;} \& \text{(d) Twenty-five head in all of grey duck, paradise duck, spoon-} \& \text{bill duck, and black swan;} \& \text{(e) Ten head in all of grey duck and spoonbill duck;} \& \text{(f) Five head of paradise duck; and} \& \text{(g) Eight head of pukeko.} \& \text{5. Excepted area wherein imported game and/or native game} \& \text{shall not be taken or killed during the open season :} \& \text{All that area of land in the Canterbury Land District, inter-} \& \text{sected by the Wakanui Creek, being Rural Sections 15104,} \& \text{15510, 17411, and 16673, the property of the late Mr. G. W.} \& \text{Leadley.} \& \text{AUCKLAND ACCLIMATIZATION DISTRICT} \& \text{(As described in New Zealand Gazette No. 4 of 23rd January, 1930,} \& \text{at page 159.)} \& \text{1. Season for cock pheasants, Californian quail, and Australian} \& \text{quail: 6th May to 30th June, 1944 (both days inclusive).} \& \text{2. Season for grey duck, mallard duck, spoonbill duck, black} \& \text{swan, and pukeko: 6th May to 21st May, 1944 (inclusive).} \& \text{3. Licenses to take or kill such imported game and native} \& \text{game within the Auckland Acclimatization District will be issued} \& \text{to any person on payment of the sum of thirty shillings (30s.) each :} \& \text{Provided that licenses to take or kill imported game and native game} \& \text{within the said district will be issued to persons receiving an age} \& \text{benefit or a miner’s benefit under the Social Security Act, 1938,} \& \text{on payment of the sum of twenty shillings (20s.) each; and the} \& \text{Secretary of the Auckland Acclimatization Society, or any person} \& \text{authorized by such Secretary in that behalf, is hereby authorized} \& \text{to sign and issue the said licenses.} \& \text{4. No person shall in any one day take or kill more than-} \& \text{(a) Nine head of cock pheasants;} \& \text{(b) Fifteen head in all of grey duck, spoonbill duck, and mallard} \& \text{duck;} \& \text{(c) Fifteen head of black swan ; and} \& \text{(d) Eight head of pukeko.} \& \text{5. No person shall take or kill imported or native game on the} \& \text{6th, 7th, or 8th days of May, 1944, while occupying any stand,} \& \text{hide, loo, or position as commonly used by duck-shooters (hereinafter} \& \text{referred to as “a stand”) which has been duly claimed by} \& \text{any other license-holder in accordance with the following provisions :} \& \text{(a) A stand may be claimed by the planting thereon at any} \& \text{time after 10 a.m. on the 30th day of April, 1944, of a} \& \text{stake with a board attached having plainly marked} \& \text{thereon the name and full postal address of the claimant} \& \text{and the number of his license:} \& \text{(b) No person shall claim more than one stand:} \& \text{(c) No stand shall be claimed on or within 100 yards of a} \& \text{stand which has already been duly claimed by any other} \& \text{person, except with the consent of such last-mentioned} \& \text{person:}\end{aligned}$

Provided, however, that any stand which is not occupied
by the claimant within half an hour after sunrise on any of the
aforesaid days may be occupied on that day by any other license-
holder :

Provided further that nothing in this clause contained shall be
deemed to affect in any way whatsoever the rights of owners or
occupiers of any lands in respect of shooting on such lands.

No person shall use or cause to be used for the taking or } \\text { killing of imported and native game on Lake Waikare any fixed } \\text { stand, pontoon, hide, mai-mai, or loo except within 200 yards of the } \\text { water's edge of the said lake. } \\text { 7. Excepted areas wherein imported game and/or native game } \\text { shall not be taken or killed during the open season:-- } \\text { (1) Little Rotongaro Lake near Huntly. } \\text { (2) Sections 51 and $51 \mathrm{~A}$, Parish of Manurewa, being R. J. } \\text { Self's Beachlea Downs property. } \\text { (3) Sections 78, part 79, W 81, S 93, and 94, Waiwera Survey } \\text { District, containing 334 acres, the property of D. S. } \\text { McCathie, Waiwera. } \\text { (4) All that area from an imaginary line across the Waikato } \\text { River, one chain down-stream from Potter's Island to } \\text { the Waikato Heads, and a strip of land one chain wide } \\text { on both banks of such portion of the said river. } \\text { (5) Section 40, Block II, Aroha Survey District, containing 193 } \\text { acres, the property of A. H. Boswell-Bowell. } \\text { (6) Section 13, Block X, Wharekawa Survey District, con- } \\text { taining 200 acres, the property of H. A. Torr. } \\text { (7) Lot 1 of Sections 6, 22, and 78, Hunua Parish, containing } \\text { 188 acres, the property of W. H. Mackey. } \\text { (8) Sections 4 and 18, Block XVI, Piako Survey District, } \\text { containing 477 acres, the property of J. B. Woodyard. } \\text { (9) Section No. XV, Pirongia Parish, containing 526 acres, the } \\text { property of E. R. Mackenzie. } \\text { (10) Part Allotment 1, 2, 3, and 254, Parish of Mangatawhiri, } \\text { part Allotment 7, Parish of Pukekohe, and Allotments } \\text { 256/7, Parish of Mangatawhiri, containing 260 acres, } \\text { known as St. Stephen's School, the property of the } \\text { General Trust Board. } \\text { (11) Lots 22, 23, and 24, Opaheke Parish, containing 15 acres, } \\text { the property of V. H. McKenzie. } \\text { (12) Part Allotment 58, Wairoa Parish, containing 226 acres, } \\text { the property of R. J. Hale. } \\text { (13) Part Section 23, 23A, Wairoa Parish, containing 14 acres, } \\text { the property of Mrs. D. M. Licenses to take or kill such imported game and native } \\text { game within the Bay of Islands Acclimatization District will be } \\text { issued to any person on the payment of the sum of thirty shillings } \\text { $(30 s .)$ each: Provided that licenses to take or kill imported game and } \\text { native game within the said district will be issued to persons receiving } \\text { an age benefit or a miner's benefit under the Social Security Act, } \\text { 1938, on payment of the sum of twenty shillings (20s.) each; and } \\text { the Secretary of the Bay of Islands Acclimatization Society, or } \\text { any person authorized by such Secretary in that behalf, is hereby } \\text { authorized to sign and issue the said licenses. } \\text { 4.
