The Oil Fuel (Horse Transport) Control Notice 1944
P URSUANT to the Supply Control Emergency Regulations
1939 and the Oil Fuel Emergency Regulations 1939, I,
Daniel Giles Sullivan, the Minister of Supply and Munitions,
hereby give notice and direct as follows:-
- This notice may be cited as the Oil Fuel (Horse
Transport) Control Notice 1944. - Except as provided in clause 3 hereof, no person
shall use oil fuel, as defined in the Oil Fuel Emergency
Regulations 1939, in any motor-vehicle which is being used
for the transport of any horse or horses upon any road or
street, whether the horse or horses are in the vehicle or in
any trailer being towed by the vehicle. - Nothing in the last preceding clause shall apply to
prohibit the use of a motor-vehicle for the transportation of
any horse for farming purposes only or on a journey which
does not exceed thirty miles by road from the starting-point
to the destination:
Provided that nothing herein shall be deemed to permit
the use of a motor-vehicle for any such purpose if that use
is prohibited under any other enactment.
