THE PHARMACY BOARD ELECTION REGULATIONS 1940

NOTICE OF ELECTION

NOTICE is hereby given that an election of a member of the Pharmacy Board to fill the vacancy caused by the retirement of A. D. McIntosh, representing employees resident in the North Island, is to be held. Rolls of the persons entitled to vote will be closed for the purpose of the election at noon on Wednesday, the 24th day of November, 1943.

The last hour and day fixed for receiving nominations of candidates for the election is twelve o’clock (noon) on the 8th day of December, 1943.

The last hour and day for receiving voting-papers for the election (should a poll be required) will be twelve o’clock (noon) on the 31st day of December, 1943.

Nominations, by any two persons entitled to vote, of candidates for election as employees’ representative, and voting-papers relating to such candidates, will be received at the office of the Secretary of the New Zealand Federated Shop Assistants’ Association, situated at No. 126, Vivian Street, Wellington C. 2.

AUCKLAND CITY COUNCIL

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the Auckland City Council hereby resolves as follows :—

“That, for the purpose of providing interest and other charges on a loan of sixty-four thousand two hundred pounds (£64,200), authorized to be raised by the Auckland City Council by way of special loan under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of repaying, to the extent that sinking funds are insufficient, those portions of the following loans which mature on the 1st January, 1944,—

Refuse Destructor Additional Loan, £7,500,
Antecedent Liability Loan, £89,500,
Abattoir Additional Loan, £20,000,

the said Auckland City Council doth hereby make and levy a special rate of seven-tenths of one penny (7/10d.) in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property in the City of Auckland, such special rate to be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of the loan to be payable yearly on the 1st day of January in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of ten years or until the loan is fully paid off.”

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the Auckland City Council hereby resolves as follows :—

“That, for the purpose of providing interest and other charges on a loan of one million four hundred and seventy-seven thousand one hundred and seventy-five pounds (£1,477,175), authorized to be raised by the Auckland City Council by way of special loan under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of redeeming on the 1st February, 1944, debentures amounting to one million four hundred and seventy-seven thousand one hundred and seventy-five pounds (£1,477,175), issued by the said Council pursuant to the provisions of the Auckland City Conversion Order 1934, namely,—

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the Auckland City Council hereby resolves as follows :—

“That, for the purpose of providing interest and other charges on a loan of thirty thousand pounds (£30,000), authorized to be raised by the Auckland City Council under the North Shore Boroughs (Auckland) Water-supply Act, 1941, for the purpose of reimbursing general account for expenditure incurred in providing a supply of water to the North Shore boroughs in excess of the amount raised by the North Shore Boroughs (Auckland) Water-supply Loan, 1941, £125,000, the said Auckland City Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one-seventh of a penny (⅐d.) in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property in the City of Auckland; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of the loan and to be payable yearly on the 1st day of June in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period not exceeding thirty years or until the loan is fully paid off.”

“That, for the purpose of providing interest and other charges on a loan of five hundred and forty thousand pounds (£540,000), authorized to be raised by the Auckland City Council under the Municipal Corporations Act, 1933, the Health Act, 1920, the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the Local Government Loans Board Act, 1926, and regulations thereunder, for the purpose of providing water-works to increase the supply of water available to the Council, such works including the construction of a dam in the Lower Nihotupu Valley, the erection of a pumping-station and filters, the laying of a pipe-line to the city and services, investigation and clearing work in connection therewith, the said Auckland City Council doth hereby make and levy a special rate of twopence halfpenny (2½d.) in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property in the City of Auckland, such special rate to be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of the loan and to be payable yearly on the 1st day of June in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period not exceeding thirty (30) years or until the loan is fully paid off.”
