Notice to Persons affected by Applications for Licenses under Part III
of the Industrial Efficiency Act, 1936

Taking of Fish for Sale

MESSRS. R. J. Rudd and R. Steele, Wellington, have applied
for licenses to take fish for sale by means of a 16 ft. rowing-
boat, using long lines, hand-lines, set-nets, drag-nets, crayfish-pots,
catches to be landed at Island Bay.

R. Martinez, Whangarei, has applied for a license to take fish
for sale by means of the fishing-vessel “Ngaio,” RL. 516, using long
lines, hand-lines, drag-nets, catches to be landed at Whangarei.

T. McGrath has applied for a variation in the conditions of his
industrial fishing license to permit him to operate the fishing-vessel
“Wanderer,” using long lines, hand-lines, set-nets, drag-nets,
crayfish-pots, catches to be landed at Whangarei.

Manufacture for Sale of Apple-juice

The New Zealand Fruit Growers’ Federation, Ltd., Wellington,
has applied for permission to transfer to itself the license to manu-
facture apple-juice at present held by R. J. Marshall, Stoke.

Manufacture for Sale of Footwear

R. Harman has applied for a license to commence in the above
industry to the extent of manufacturing clogs.

McKinlay’s Footwear Co., Ltd., 128 King Street, Dunedin, has
applied for an extension of its existing footwear license to permit
the manufacture of slippers and sandals by the cemented process.

Persons considering themselves materially affected by the
decisions of the Bureau of Industry on these applications should
make any desired representations in writing not later than the 18th
November, 1943, to G. L. O’Halloran, Secretary, Bureau of Industry,
G.P.O. Box 3025, Wellington.

CROWN LANDS NOTICES

Town Lands in Nelson Land District for Selection on Renewable Lease

District Lands and Survey Office,
Nelson, 2nd November, 1943.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned sections are
open for selection on renewable lease under the Land Act,
1924; and applications will be received at the District Lands and
Survey Office, Nelson, up to 4 o’clock p.m. on Monday, 6th
December, 1943.

Applicants should appear personally for examination at the
District Lands and Survey Office, Nelson, on Wednesday, 8th
December, 1943, at 10.30 o’clock a.m., but if any applicant is unable
to attend he may be examined by any other Land Board or by any
Commissioner of Crown Lands.

The ballot will be held immediately upon conclusion of the
examination of applicants, and the successful applicants are required
to pay immediately at conclusion of ballot a deposit comprising
the first half-year’s rent, broken-period rent, weighting for improve-
ments, and lease fee.

The term of the lease is thirty-three years with perpetual right
of renewal at revaluation.

NOTE.—These lands are offered in terms of section 153 of the
Land Act, 1924, which provides that no right to any mineral under
the surface shall pertain to the lessees, whose rights shall be to the
surface soil only.
