the purposes of the Magistrates' Courts Act, 1928, and Maintenance
Officer at the Magistrates' Court at Murchison for the purposes of the
Destitute Persons Amendment Act, 1926, on and from the 6th day
of October, 1943.
Constable John Aloysius Feely
to be Clerk and Bailiff of the Magistrates' Court at Lumsden for the
purposes of the Magistrates' Courts Act, 1928, and Maintenance
Officer at the Magistrates' Court at Lumsden, for the purposes of the

The Tobacco Factories' Employees' Labour Legislation Suspension
Order 1943, No. 2
IN pursuance of the Labour Legislation Emergency Regulations
1940, the Minister of Labour doth hereby order as follows :--

This Order may be cited as the Tobacco Factories' Employees'
Labour Legislation Suspension Order 1943, No. 2. -
This Order applies to W. D. and H. O. Wills (N.Z.), Limited,
and to Godfrey Phillips (N.Z.), Limited, and to the employment in
the Wellington Industrial District of casual female workers after
5 p.m. on any day on work coming within the scope of the Northern,
Wellington, and Nelson Tobacco Workers' award dated the 19th
day of March, 1943, and recorded in 43 Book of Awards 77. -
The provisions of all Acts and regulations thereunder and of
the said award are hereby suspended in so far as any such provisions
operate (1) to restrict or prevent the employment of the workers
referred to in clause 2 hereof for more than three hours per night or
for more than two consecutive nights in any week, or (2) to require
such workers to be paid for statutory holidays; but such suspension
shall be subject to the condition that the employment of any such
worker at night-time shall be at the overtime rate of pay of time
and a half calculated for each hour worked on the basis of one-
fortieth of the weekly rate of pay that would have been payable to
such worker for such work performed during ordinary hours. -
This Order shall come into effect on the day of the date
hereof.

Exemption Order under the Transport Legislation Emergency
Regulations 1940
PURSUANT to the Transport Legislation Emergency Regulations
1940, the Minister of Transport doth hereby order and declare
that the provisions of clause (1) of Regulation 7 of the Motor-drivers
Regulations 1940, so far as they relate to drivers of heavy trade-
motors, shall not apply to George Richard Albrett, of Lower Hutt.

Exemption Order under the Transport Legislation Emergency
Regulations 1940
PURSUANT to the Transport Legislation Emergency Regulations
1940, the Minister of Transport doth hereby order and declare
that the provisions of clause (1) of Regulation 7 of the Motor-

NOTICE is hereby given that the following resolution was passed
by the Christchurch City Council, pursuant to section 5 of the
Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act, 1928, on the
3rd day of May, 1943, due notice of intention to pass such
resolution having been given in terms of the said section, and no
objection thereto received :-
"That the Christchurch City Council, pursuant to the pro-
visions of section 5 of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National
Parks Act, 1928, doth hereby declare all those areas in the
Canterbury Land District, containing together by admeasurement
1 rood 29.4 perches, more or less, situated in the City of Christchurch,
being part Lot 51, Deposit Plan 8335, and part Lot 2, Deposit Plan
12113, comprising parts Rural Section 154, and being part of the
land contained in Certificate of Title, Volume 474, folio 136
(Canterbury Registry), as the same are more particularly delineated
on the plan marked L. and S. 1/975c, deposited in the Head Office,
Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon
coloured blue and yellow respectively, to be a public reserve for
recreation purposes within the meaning of the said Act."

NEW ZEALAND.--NORTH ISLAND.--AUCKLAND HARBOUR
Lighted Buoys replaced by Lighted Gate Vessels
Position: (a) 084° 2,500 ft.; (b) 096° 2,900 ft. from Devonport
Sandspit Beacon in lat. 36° 50' S.; long. 174° 48'.5 E. (approx.).
Details: The lighted red buoy in position (a) and the lighted
black buoy in position (b) have been replaced by gate vessels. The
northern gate vessel, H.M.N.Z.S. "Claymore," is moored in position
(a), and exhibits four green lights vertically disposed 4 ft. apart.
The southern gate vessel, H.M.N.Z.S. "Whakariri," is moored in
position (b), and exhibits four red lights vertically disposed 4 ft.
apart.
"Gate open" signals will not be displayed.
The passage of all outward and inward traffic is controlled as in
the past by Boom Control Launches to the eastward and westward
of the Gate.

of the Industrial Efficiency Act, 1936
Taking of Fish for Sale
MESSRS. A. J. and H. McCollum, Queen Street, Thames, have
applied for licenses to take fish for sale by means of the
fishing-vessel "Joyce," TS. 57; using set-nets, long lines, and
hand-lines, catches to be landed at Thames.
T. Forrest, 67 Le Cren Street, Timaru, has applied for a license
to take fish for sale by means of the 29 ft. 18 h.p. fishing-vessel
"Rob Roy" (to be registered), using trawl-nets, drag-nets, long
lines, hand-lines, and crayfish-pots, catches to be landed at Timaru.
N. Nalder, 175 Haven Road, Nelson, has applied for a variation
in the conditions of his industrial fishing license to permit him to
operate a 43 ft. 45 h.p. fishing-vessel (to be registered), using
trawl-nets, long lines, hand-lines, set-nets, drag-nets, and crayfish-
pots, catches to be landed at Nelson.
W. C. Matheson, Turikira Bay, Whangarei, has applied for a
variation in the conditions of his industrial fishing license in respect
of the fishing-vessel "Galatea," TA. 490, operating into Tauranga,
to permit him to operate the fishing-launch "Maori" (to be
registered), using set-nets, drag-nets, long lines, hand-lines, and
crayfish-pots, catches to be landed at Whangarei.
Persons considering themselves materially affected by the
decisions of the Bureau of Industry on these applications should
make any desired representations in writing not later than the
11th November, 1943, to G. L. O'Halloran, Secretary, Bureau of
Industry, G.P.O. Box 3025, Wellington.
