Cancellation of Award of Medal.

to persons holding the Medal of the Military Division, on a recommendation to that effect by Our First Lord of the Admiralty, Our Secretary of State for War or Our Secretary of State for Air, or, in the case of any of Our Dominions, the Government whereof shall so desire, by the appropriate Minister of State for the said Dominion, to cancel and annul the award of any Medal of the said Order, and that thereupon the name of the recipient in the Register shall be erased; but that it shall be competent for the Sovereign to restore the Medal to any person whose name may have been erased when circumstances render it just and expedient so to do.

AND it is Our Will and Pleasure that these Statutes sealed with the Seal of the said Order, shall be taken and received as part and parcel of the Statutes thereof.

GIVEN at Our Court at Saint James’s under the Seal of the said Order, this Eighth day of February, one thousand nine hundred and forty-three, in the Seventh year of Our Reign.

The Serpentine Superphosphate Control Order 1943

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred on him by the Primary Industries Emergency Regulations 1939,* the Minister of Agriculture doth hereby make the following Order.


ORDER

  1. This Order may be cited as the Serpentine Superphosphate Control Order 1943.

  2. This Order shall come into force on the 1st day of October, 1943.

  3. While this Order continues in force no person shall manufacture for sale or cause or permit to be manufactured for sale any serpentine superphosphate that fails to comply in any particular with the standards prescribed in the first column of the Schedule hereto by more than the permitted margin of tolerance specified in relation thereto in the second column of that Schedule.

  4. While this Order continues in force no person shall use or cause or permit to be used in the manufacture of serpentine superphosphate intended for sale any serpentine rock that fails to comply in any particular with the standards prescribed in the first column of the Schedule hereto by more than the permitted margin of tolerance specified in relation thereto in the second column of that Schedule.


SCHEDULE

STANDARDS OF SERPENTINE SUPERPHOSPHATE AND OF SERPENTINE ROCK USED IN MANUFACTURE OF SUCH SUPERPHOSPHATE

Prescribed Standards. Margin of Tolerance.
Serpentine Superphosphate
(1) Phosphoric anhydride (P₂O₅) content—
(a) Soluble or insoluble: Not less than 15 per cent. by weight 0·5 per cent. by weight.
(b) Soluble in water: Not more than 4 per cent. by weight 0·5 per cent. by weight.
(c) Soluble in citric acid of the strength prescribed by Regulation 14 of the Fertilizer Regulations 1928† (including the percentage soluble in water): Not less than 13 per cent. by weight 0·5 per cent. by weight.
(2) Maximum size of particles: ¼ in. in diameter No margin of tolerance.
Serpentine Rock
(1) Magnesium oxide (MGO) content: Not less than 25 per cent. by weight 0·5 per cent. by weight.
(2) Fineness of grinding—
(a) All the rock to be ground so as to be capable of being passed through a No. 18 British standard wire-mesh sieve No margin of tolerance.
(b) Not less than 50 per cent. by weight of the rock to be ground so as to be capable of being passed through a No. 100 British standard wire-mesh sieve 2·5 per cent. by weight.

Fixing the Rates of the Levy on all Wool produced in New Zealand.—
(Notice No. Ag. 4037)

PURSUANT to the powers vested in him by section 10 (2) of the Wool Industry Promotion Act, 1936, the Minister of Agriculture doth hereby fix the rates following, that is to say,—

(a) For each bale, sixpence;
(b) For each fadge, threepence; and
(c) For each bag or sack, one penny;

to be the rates of the levy to be charged on all wool produced in New Zealand which at any time during the season commencing on the 1st day of October, 1943, is exported from New Zealand or is delivered to a wool-manufacturer for use in New Zealand.

Authorizing the Laying-off of Roads of less Width than 66 ft.

WHEREAS in the opinion of the Minister of Lands it is inexpedient, by reason of the fact that the land shown upon the plan of Town of Karaka Extension No. 7 affecting part Section 1B, Waikawa Native Block, situated in Block VII, Arapawa Survey District, Marlborough Land District, is intended to be used wholly for residential purposes, that the new roads, being Lots 41 and 42, shown thereon should be of the width of 66 ft.:

Now, therefore, in pursuance of the power conferred upon him by section 17, subsection (1), of the Land Act, 1924, and of every other power him thereunto enabling, the Minister of Lands doth hereby authorize the laying-off of the said new roads of a width of not less than 50 ft.: Provided always that it shall not be lawful for any person to erect or cause to be erected any building at a less distance than 33 ft. from the middle of such roads.

Given under the hand of the Minister of Lands, this 16th day of September, 1943.

Appeal against Decision of the Native Land Court withdrawn
