Appointments in the Royal New Zealand Navy

HIS Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to approve of the following appointments, termination of appointment, and promotions in the Royal New Zealand Navy:

Lieutenant-Commander Henry Bell Carleton Holmes, R.N., granted the acting rank of Commander whilst holding present appointment.

Lieutenant John Ernle Washbourn, R.N., lent Royal New Zealand Navy, and appointed H.M.N.Z. ship as directed, to date 14th July, 1943.

Paymaster Lieutenant Herbert Sidney Thomas Osborne, R.N., appointed H.M.N.Z. ship as directed, and granted the acting rank of Paymaster Lieutenant-Commander whilst holding this appointment.

Chief Shipwright John Weir Stewart, N.Z. 556, promoted to the rank of Temporary Acting Warrant Shipwright, and appointed H.M.N.Z. ship as directed, to date 19th July, 1943.

Supply Chief Petty Officer Cecil Francis Cutts, N.Z. 1189, promoted to the rank of Temporary Acting Warrant Supply Officer, and appointed H.M.N.Z. ship as directed, to date 15th July, 1943.

ROYAL NEW ZEALAND NAVAL RESERVE

Temporary Lieutenant James Edward Hancock, granted the status of "Qualified Officer (Small Vessels)," to date 8th July, 1943.

Probationary Temporary Lieutenant Walter Brampton Holdstock, appointment terminated, to date 20th August, 1943.

Temporary Lieutenant Frederick Johnston (T. 124), transferred to the Royal New Zealand Naval Reserve in the rank of Temporary Lieutenant with existing seniority of 21st June, 1940, and reappointed, to date 23rd July, 1943.

Sub-Lieutenant William Robinson Gower Reid, promoted to the rank of Lieutenant and reappointed, to date 1st July, 1943.
