Notice to Persons affected by Applications for Licenses under Part III
of the Industrial Efficiency Act, 1936
Manufacture of Gut from Casings
AN application has been received from H. Goldsmith,
278 Gloucester Street, Christchurch, for a license to commence
and to carry on in the above industry.
Any person who considers he will be materially affected by
the decision of the Bureau of Industry on this application, and
who wishes to make representations accordingly, must furnish them
in writing not later than 10th September, 1943.
Manufacture of Asbestos Cements
An application has been received from James Hardie and Co.
Pty., Ltd., Auckland, for an extension of their existing license to
permit of the establishment of a factory in Wellington for the
manufacture of asbestos cement products.
Any person who considers he will be materially affected by
the decision of the Bureau of Industry on this application, and
who wishes to make representations accordingly, must furnish
them in writing not later than 15th September, 1943.

Declaration of Result of Election of Producers’ Representatives on
the Hop Marketing Committee
I, MAY WAREHAM, Returning Officer for the purpose of the
election of five (5) producers’ representatives for appointment
to the Hop Marketing Committee established by the Hop Marketing
Regulations 1939, made under the Marketing Act, 1936, and the
Agriculture (Emergency Powers) Act, 1934, do hereby declare the
result of the election on the poll which closed at Wellington at
noon on the 25th day of August, 1943, to be as follows:—

CROWN LANDS NOTICE
Land in Westland Land District for Selection on Renewable Lease
District Lands and Survey Office,
Hokitika, 31st August, 1943.
NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned sections are
open for selection on renewable lease under the Land Act,
1924; and applications will be received at the District Lands
and Survey Office, Hokitika, up to 4 o’clock p.m. on Monday, 4th
October, 1943.
Applicants should appear personally for examination at the
District Lands and Survey Office, Hokitika, on Wednesday, 6th
October, 1943, at 10.30 o’clock a.m., but if any applicant is unable
to attend he may be examined by any other Land Board or by any
Commissioner of Crown Lands.
The ballot will be held immediately upon conclusion of the
examination of applicants, and the successful applicant is required
to pay immediately at conclusion of ballot a deposit comprising
the first half-year’s rent, lease fee, and amount of weighting for
improvements.
NOTE.—This section is offered in terms of section 153 of the
Land Act, 1924, which provides that no right to any mineral under
the surface shall pertain to the leasee, whose rights shall be to the
surface soil only.

SCHEDULE
WESTLAND LAND DISTRICT.—FIRST-CLASS LAND
Grey County.—Punakaiiki Survey District. —Westland Mining District
SECTIONS part 2590, 2591, part 2598, 3243/4, 3759, and 3765/6,
Block I: Area, 175 acres 2 roods 32·3 perches. Capital value,
£200: half-yearly rent, £4.
Weighted with £565 for improvements, comprising old dwelling
of five rooms, new three-roomed cottage, garage, two milking-sheds
and yards (one fairly modern), with implement-shed, hay-shed, and
piggies; 275 chains fencing in poor to fair order; and 95 acres
approximately felled and in grass, of which 38 acres have been
stumped. This amount is payable in cash or on terms to be arranged
with State Advances Corporation prior to the ballot. Applicants
must produce to Land Board evidence of the terms arranged with the
Corporation.
These sections adjoin the Greymouth-Westport coast highway,
twenty-nine miles from Greymouth, and one mile from Punakaiiki
Post-office. The school-children are taken by bus to Barrytown
ten miles, while cream is collected at the gate. The property com-
prises 30 acres good quality river flats with balance terraces and
steep slopes of poorer character, but all lying well to sun and over-
looking sea-coast. Soil comprises limestone formation, and alluvial
drift capable of high production with drainage; free from noxious
weeds except for small isolated blackberry patches. Mild climate,
and attractive property to a retired farmer. Capable of carrying
fifteen to eighteen cows and about fifty ewes, while market-
gardening for early vegetables would be profitable as a sideline.

LAND TRANSFER ACT NOTICES
EVIDENCE of the loss of certificate of title, Vol. 614, folio 233
(Auckland Registry), for Sections 6 and 7 of Block V of the
Town of Moturiki, in favour of BENJAMIN NEWMAN ATT-
WOOD, of Horahora, Farm Labourer, having been lodged with me
together with an application for a new certificate of title in lieu
thereof, notice is hereby given of my intention to issue such new
certificate of title after fourteen days from 2nd September, 1943.

outstanding duplicate of Mortgage No. 110124, in the name of

transmission of the said mortgage to the Public Trustee without
