1944, the cost of administration of the said Act, including the maintenance of works constructed under that Act in the said area, and I direct that the said rates (together with the annually recurring special rates already made and levied) will be payable in one sum on the 30th day of August, 1943, to the Collector of Rates, Chief Drainage Engineer's Office, Government Buildings, Customs Street West, Auckland.
The rate-book is open for inspection at the office of the Collector of Rates, and a copy of the same is available for inspection at the office of the Commissioner of Crown Lands, Post-office Buildings, Napier, at all times at which those offices are open for the transaction of public business.

SCHEDULE
CLASS A.—On the unimproved value of all land classified as Class A by the person appointed to classify lands under section 3 of the Swamp Drainage Amendment Act, 1928, ninepence and ninety-four one-hundredths of a penny (9·94d.) in the pound.
Class B.—On the unimproved value of all land so classified as Class B, one penny and sixty-six one-hundredths of a penny (1·66d.) in the pound.
Class C.—On the unimproved value of all land so classified as Class C, thirty-three one-hundredths of a penny (0·33d.) in the pound.

Rangitaiki Land Drainage.—Notice of making and levying General Rates
—
I, JAMES GILLISPIE BARCLAY, Minister of Lands, in exercise of the powers conferred upon me by the Rangitaiki Land Drainage Act, 1910, and its amendments, do hereby make and levy, on the unimproved value of all land within the district constituted under the said Act, the general rates to meet maintenance costs for the period 1st April, 1943, to 31st March, 1944, as described in the Schedule hereto.
The amount of such rates will be payable in one sum on the 30th day of August, 1943, together with the special rates already made and levied.
The rate-book of the district is open for inspection at the office of the Collector of Rates, Chief Drainage Engineer's Office, Room 45, First Floor, Government Buildings, Customs Street West, Auckland, and a copy of same may be inspected at the office of the Land Drainage Engineer, at Thornton, near Whakatane, at all times at which those offices are open for the transaction of public business.

Class C.—On the unimproved value of all lands so classified as Class C, ninety-three one-hundredths of a penny (0·93d.) in the pound.
Class D.—On the unimproved value of all lands so classified as Class D, thirty-one one-hundredths of a penny (0·31d.) in the pound.

Industrial Man-power Emergency Regulations 1942.—Extension of Application of Part IV
—
IN pursuance of the powers conferred upon him by Regulation 19 of the Industrial Man-power Emergency Regulations 1942, the Minister of Industrial Man-power doth hereby declare that the provisions of Part IV of the said regulations do henceforth apply to all persons employed in tramway services operated by the Auckland Transport Board.

Taking of Fish for Sale
AN application has been received from T. G. Viggers, 243 Hastings Street, Napier, for a license to take fish for sale by means of the fishing-launch “Smiles,” NR 3, using set-nets, drag-nets, long lines, hand-lines, and crayfish-pots, catches to be landed at Port Ahuriri.
Any person who considers he will be materially affected by the decision of the Bureau of Industry on this application and who wishes to make representations accordingly, must furnish them in writing not later than the 9th September, 1943.

NOTICE is hereby given that, in pursuance of the power and authority vested in me by section 3 of the Public Trust Office Amendment Act, 1921–22, I, the Public Trustee of the Dominion of New Zealand, have appointed Sidney Alexander Gibson, of the Public Trust Office, Hastings, to be deputy of the District Public Trustee, Hastings, during the absence of such District Public Trustee from his headquarters from any cause, and all previous Warrants appointing any deputy of the said District Public Trustee have been revoked.
