Area, 63 acres 2 roods 32 perches. As the same is delineated
on the plan marked L. and S. 6/1/406, deposited in the
Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington,
and thereon bordered blue.

ORDER IN COUNCIL
At the Government House at Wellington, this 25th day of August,
1943
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred
on him by section five of the Tourist and Health Resorts
Control Act, 1908 (hereinafter termed “the said Act”), His
Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand,
acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council
of the said Dominion, doth hereby vest the control of the landing
reserve, described in the Schedule hereto, in the Minister of the
Crown for the time being having the administration of the said
Act; and doth hereby declare that the said reserve shall be
administered under the said Act.

SCHEDULE
AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT
ALL that area in Rotorua County, situated in Block XII, Rotoiti
Survey District, containing by admeasurement 13·3 perches, more
or less, being Lot 10 on D.P. 22120, being part Haumingi No. 6
Block, and being part of the land comprised and described in
Certificate of Title, Volume 458, folio 76 (Auckland Registry).
As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked
L. and S. 6/9/61, deposited in the Head Office, Department of
Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon edged red.

Vesting the Control of a Reserve in the Oparure Public Hall Board

ORDER IN COUNCIL
At the Government House at Wellington, this 25th day of August,
1943.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto was by
Warrant dated the eleventh day of March, one thousand
nine hundred and thirty-eight, and published in Gazette of the
seventeenth day of that month, permanently reserved for a site
for a public hall: And whereas it is expedient that the control of the
said reserve should be vested in a special Board as hereinafter
provided:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the
Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and
consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, and in
exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by
section seventeen of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National
Parks Act, 1928, doth hereby vest the control of the reserve, described
in the Schedule hereto, for the period of five years from the date
hereof (unless previously amended or revoked under the said Act),
in the undermentioned persons, namely,——
Harry Thorby,
Lars Klausen Lemberg,
James Maxwell Somerville,
Noel Keith Boddie,
Margaret Dorothy Bonington Bruce, and
Wilfred Beresford,
who are hereby constituted for that purpose a special Board by the
name of the Oparure Public Hall Board (hereinafter referred to as
“the Board”), with the powers and subject to the conditions
hereinafter contained, that is to say:—

  1. The first meeting of the Board shall be held on Wednesday, the
    first day of September, one thousand nine hundred and forty-three, at
    half past seven o’clock p.m., at the Oparure Public Hall, and thereafter
    the Board shall meet for the transaction of business at the said hall
    on the first Wednesday in the months of December, March, June, and
    September, or at such other time or place as may from time to
    time be fixed by the Board.

  2. The members of the Board shall at their first meeting, and
    thereafter at the annual meeting hereinafter mentioned, elect one
    of themselves to be Chairman, who may join in the discussion and
    shall have an original as well as a casting vote. The Chairman
    shall hold office until the election of his successor.

  3. Special meetings may be convened by the Chairman, pro-
    vided that two days’ notice of any such meeting is given to each
    member, specifying the business to be transacted at such special
    meeting; and no other business than that so specified shall be
    transacted at such meeting.

  4. Any four members of the Board shall form a quorum.
    Any meeting may be adjourned from time to time.

  5. If at any meeting the Chairman is not present at the time
    appointed for holding the same, the members present shall choose
    one of their number to be Chairman of such meeting.

  6. If by resignation, death, incapacity, or otherwise the seat
    of any member shall be or become vacant, or if any member absents
    himself without reasonable cause from three consecutive meetings
    of the Board, the Governor-General shall have power to appoint
    any other person to be a member of the Board in his stead.

  7. All questions shall be determined by the majority of votes
    of the members of the Board present at the meeting.

  8. The Board shall have prepared and submitted at an annual
    meeting to be held in the month of April in each year a report of
    the proceedings of the Board for the previous year ending on the
    thirty-first day of March, together with a statement of the receipts
    and expenditure of the Board for such year. A copy of every such
    report and statement, certified by the Chairman to be correct, shall
    be sent to the Minister of Lands as soon as possible after each annual
    meeting.

  9. The Board shall control the said reserve and the building
    erected thereon for the purposes of a public hall, and shall also
    afford settlers and residents of Oparure and the surrounding district
    such facilities for meeting within the said hall as may from time to
    time be determined by the Board; provided that the Board shall
    have power to fix reasonable charges for the use of the said hall.

    less, being part Kinohaku East No. 1f No. 16 Block, and being all
    of the land on plan 26911, deposited in the office of the District
    Land Registrar at Auckland. As the same is more particularly
    delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 6/6/660A, deposited in the
    Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and
    thereon bordered red.

Extending the Open Season for the taking or killing of Opossums,
North Canterbury Acclimatization District

ORDER IN COUNCIL
At the Government House at Wellington, this 25th day of August,
1943
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
IN pursuance of the powers conferred on him by the Animals
Protection and Game Act, 1921–22, and of all other powers
and authorities enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the
Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of
the Executive Council, doth hereby amend the Order in Council
made under the said Act, dated the seventeenth day of March, one
thousand nine hundred and forty-three, and appearing in the New
Zealand Gazette No. 17 of the seventeenth idem, at page 317, by
deleting the words “1st September” appearing under the heading
“North Canterbury Acclimatization District” in the Schedule to
such Order in Council, and contained in Condition No. 1 under the
said heading, and by inserting in lieu thereof the words “15th
September”:
And all licenses issued to take or kill opossums in the North
Canterbury Acclimatization District under the authority of the said
Order in Council are hereby extended until noon on the said
fifteenth day of September, one thousand nine hundred and forty-
three.
