Appointment of Deputy District Public Trustee
NOTICE is hereby given that, in pursuance of the power and authority vested in me by section 3 of the Public Trust Office Amendment Act, 1921–22, I, the Public Trustee of the Dominion of New Zealand, have appointed David O’Donoghue, of the Public Trust Office, Wanganui, to be deputy of the District Public Trustee, Wanganui, during the absence of such District Public Trustee from his headquarters from any cause, and all previous Warrants appointing any deputy of the said District Public Trustee have been revoked.

The Refrigerant Gas Cylinder Control Notice 1943
PURSUANT to the Factory Emergency Regulations 1939, I, P. George Augustus Pascoe, Factory Controller, hereby direct and give notice as follows:

This notice may be cited as the Refrigerant Gas Cylinder Control Notice 1943.

This notice shall come into force on the day next following the date of the publication hereof in the Gazette.

In this notice the term “refrigerant gas cylinder” means a cylinder usually used for the purpose of containing methyl chloride (CH₃Cl), Freon (CCL₂F₂), sulphur dioxide (SO₂), carbon dioxide (CO₂), or similar refrigerant gas.

Every person who has the possession or control of a refrigerant gas cylinder shall cause the cylinder to be completely discharged into service bottles, or otherwise, immediately the content of the cylinder is less than 5 lb. (by weight) of gas.

Every person who empties any refrigerant gas cylinder shall, within seven days after he has emptied it, deliver the cylinder to the person from whom he received it when it was full if that person is in New Zealand, or, if that person is not in New Zealand, shall, within the same period, deliver the cylinder to a common carrier for return to that person.

Every person who at any time receives an empty refrigerant gas cylinder shall, within seven days after he has received it, deliver the cylinder to the person from whom he received it when it was full if that person is in New Zealand, or, if that person is not in New Zealand, shall, within the same period, deliver the cylinder to a common carrier for return to that person.

Every person who on the last day of any calendar month while this notice is in force is in possession of any refrigerant gas cylinder (whether empty or not) shall, within seven days thereafter, furnish in writing to the Factory Controller a return setting out the number of cylinders and the type and capacity (in pounds weight of gas) of each cylinder, and distinguishing the empty and the full or partly full cylinders. The return shall also give particulars regarding any cylinders which have during the month been returned empty to any person, whether in New Zealand or elsewhere, by the person making the return.

Details : The shoal reported in previous notice has been examined and a least depth of 24 fathoms found in a position approximately 025° 9 cables from the northern Jag Rock.
