APPLICATION FOR WATER-RACE

In the Warden’s Court held at Cromwell

NOTICE is hereby given that application has been made to the Warden at Cromwell by the Otago Central Electric-power Board for a water-race to divert thirty-five heads for generating electric-power commencing in Roaring Meg Creek in Run 634, Cromwell District, running south for three-quarters of a mile through Runs 634 and 633 and terminating in and returning the water to the said stream just above the intake of water-race held under License No. 3891.

And such application will be heard in the Warden’s Court at Cromwell on Thursday, 17th June, 1943, at 10.30 a.m.

Objections must be filed in the Registrar’s office and notified to applicant at least three days before the time as appointed.

THE WAITOMO ELECTRIC-POWER BOARD

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the Finance Act, 1936 (No. 2), and all other Acts and powers it enabling, the Waitomo Electric-power Board hereby resolves as follows:—

“That, for the purpose of providing the principal, interest, and other charges on a loan of £10,000 (ten thousand pounds), authorized to be raised by the Waitomo Electric-power Board under the above-mentioned Acts for the purpose of providing for extensions and additions to the existing reticulation system and otherwise providing for the distribution of electrical energy throughout the Waitomo Electric-power District, the Waitomo Electric-power Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of nine-fortieths of a penny in the pound upon the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property of the Waitomo Electric-power District; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable yearly on the 1st day of October in each year and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty years or until the loan is fully paid off.”

NOTICE is hereby given that a petition for the winding-up of the above-named company by the Supreme Court was, on the 17th day of May, 1943, presented to the said Court by Edward Stanley Mong, of Ōtatau, Printer, and that the said petition is directed to be heard before the Court sitting at Dunedin on the 4th day of June, 1943, at 10 o’clock in the forenoon; and any creditor or contributory of the said company desirous to support or oppose the making of an order on the said petition may appear at the time of hearing in person or by his Counsel for that purpose; and a copy of the petition will be furnished to any creditor or contributory of the said company requiring the same by the undersigned on payment of the regulated charge for the same.

NOTICE is hereby given that a meeting of the New River Gold Dredging Company, Limited, will be held on Tuesday, the 25th day of May, 1943, at which a resolution for voluntary winding-up is to be proposed, and that a meeting of the creditors of the said company will be held, pursuant to section 234 of the Companies Act, 1933, at the registered office on Tuesday, the 25th day of May, 1943, at 4.30 p.m., at which meeting a full statement of the position of the company’s affairs, together with a list of the creditors and the estimated amount of their claims, will be laid before the meeting, and at which meeting the creditors, in pursuance of section 235 of the said Act, may nominate a person to be the liquidator of the company, and, in pursuance of section 236 of the said Act, may appoint a committee of inspection.
