NEW ZEALAND.—NORTH ISLAND.—PORT NICHOLSON
Light-buoys established
(1) Position: 313½°, 2,530 ft. from Hope Shoal rear leading light. Lat., 41° 17′ 30″ S.; long., 174° 51′ 30″ E. (approx.).
Abridged description of light: Fl. G. 3 sec.
Description: A cylindrical light-buoy painted red and exhibiting a flashing green light every 3 seconds.
(2) Position: 307°, 3,060 ft. from Hope Shoal rear leading light.
Abridged description of light: Fl. R. 3 sec.
Description: A cylindrical light-buoy painted black and exhibiting a flashing red light every 3 seconds.

Information about Buoys
Position: Bean Rocks Lighthouse. Lat., 36° 50′ S.; long., 174° 50′ E. (approx.).
(1) Alterations in Light-buoy
(Previous Notice: No. 17 (1) of 1942.)
Position: 246°, 4,350 ft. from the above lighthouse.
Abridged description of new light: Fl. R.
Alterations: This buoy has been moved approximately 150 ft. in a 084° direction from the above position, and the light altered from occulting red to flashing red every two seconds.
(2) Light-buoy replaced by Buoy
Position: 270½°, 3,725 ft. from the above lighthouse.
Alteration: This light-buoy has been withdrawn and replaced by a black can buoy.
(3) Light-buoy established
Position: 274°, 5·7 cables from the above lighthouse.
Abridged description of light: F.R.
Details: A light-buoy painted black and exhibiting a fixed red light has been established in this position.

CROWN LANDS NOTICES
Town Land in Auckland Land District for Selection on Renewable Lease
Auckland District Lands and Survey Office,
Auckland, 24th May, 1943.
NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned section is open for selection on renewable lease under the Land Act, 1924; and applications will be received at the Auckland District Lands and Survey Office, Auckland, up to 11 o’clock a.m. on Monday, 28th June, 1943.
Applicants should appear personally for examination at the Auckland District Lands and Survey Office, Auckland, on Tuesday, 29th June, 1943, at 10.30 o’clock a.m., but if any applicant is unable to attend he may be examined by any other Land Board or by any Commissioner of Crown Lands.
The ballot will be held immediately upon the conclusion of the examination of applicants, and the successful applicant is required to pay immediately at conclusion of ballot a deposit comprising the first half-year’s rent, broken-period rent, and lease fee.
SCHEDULE
AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.—TOWN LAND
Otorohanga Town Board.—Otorohanga Native Township
SECTION 7, Block XII: Area, 1 rood 25·8 perches. Capital value, £75; half-yearly rent, £1 17s. 6d.
This section fronts Turongo Street, Otorohanga, a quarter of a mile from Post-office and twelve chains from Main Street. It is a level section with the exception of an open drain traversing it a chain back from Turongo Street.

Land in Auckland Land District for Selection on Optional Tenures
Auckland District Lands and Survey Office,
Auckland, 26th May, 1943.
NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned section is open for selection on optional tenures under the Land Act, 1924; and applications will be received at the Auckland District Lands and Survey Office, Auckland, up to 11 o’clock a.m. on Monday, 28th June, 1943.
Applicants should appear personally for examination at the Auckland District Lands and Survey Office, Auckland, on Tuesday, 29th June, 1943, at 10.30 o’clock a.m., but if any applicant is unable to attend he may be examined by any other Land Board or by any Commissioner of Crown Lands.
Applicants are required to produce documentary evidence of their farming experience and financial position.
The ballot will be held immediately upon conclusion of the examination of applicants, and the successful applicant is required to pay immediately at conclusion of ballot a deposit comprising the first half-year’s rent, broken-period rent, lease fee, and weighting for improvements.
SCHEDULE
AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.—SECOND-CLASS LAND
Kawhia County.—Kawhia South Survey District
SECTION 18, Block X: Area, 353* acres. Capital value, £102. Deposit on deferred payments, £7; Half-yearly instalment on deferred payments (term: ten years), £6 4s. 10d. Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent, £2 0s. 10d.
- Subject to slight alteration on completion of survey.
Weighted with £338 (payable in cash) for improvements, comprising half-share in 30 chains boundary-fencing, 120 chains internal fencing, 180 acres clearing and grassing, and house.
This section is situated thirty-six miles from Te Kuiti on the Kawhia–Mahoenui Road, two miles from Te Anga Post-office, and five miles from Piripiri School. Land is undulating to hilly; almost 30 acres ploughable. Suitable for grazing in conjunction with other land, but not suitable to farm on its own.
NOTE.—Access to the section is by ford across the Tawarau River, and the selector, if he requires better access, will be obliged to bridge the stream at his own expense.

The ballot will be held immediately upon conclusion of the examination of applicants, and the successful applicant is required to pay immediately at the conclusion of the ballot a deposit comprising the first half-year’s rent, broken-period rent, lease fee, and weighting for improvements.

Raetihi Borough.—Block VI, Makotuku Survey District
SECTION 57, Town of Raetihi Extension No. 1: Area, 4 acres 0 roods 17 perches. Capital value, £40; half-yearly rent, £1.
Weighted with £30 (payable in cash) for improvements, comprising felling and grassing 4 acres, stumping 1 acre, and 24 chains fencing.
This section is situated at the corner of Islington and Alexander Roads, one mile and a quarter from Raetihi Railway-station and one mile from School and Post-office. Good building-site, intersected by stream; soil medium loam on clay formation. No sewerage or water.
