  1. GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF WORKS.

The licensee is hereby authorized, subject to the conditions
hereof, to construct, maintain, and use the following works for the
purposes of this license, the positions of the said works being
indicated on the said plan P.W.D. 81858 :—

(a) Headworks consisting of an intake and water-race and pipe-
lines leading to the water-wheel and power-house here-
inafter referred to, giving a static head of approximately
32 ft.
(b) Tail-race leading from the said water-wheel to the said
stream.
(c) A power-house with all necessary equipment for generating
electricity at a pressure of 230 volts direct current.
(d) Electric lines leading from the power-house aforesaid across
said Section 6 to the licensee’s homestead and wool-shed.

  1. DURATION OF LICENSE.

Unless sooner determined, this license shall continue in force
until the 31st day of March, 1963, or until electrical energy is available
from an Electric-power Board or other general public source,
whichever is the earlier.

  1. SYSTEM OF SUPPLY.

The system of supply shall be as described in paragraph (d)
of clause 21-01 of the Electrical Supply Regulations 1935. The
generating and transmission voltages shall be approximately 230
volts direct current.

  1. RENTAL.

For the purpose of assessing the annual rental payable in respect
of this license, the licensee may install a suitable maximum-demand
indicator to the satisfaction of the Inspecting Engineer of the Public
Works Department, and failing such installation the rental shall be
assessed on the maximum generating capacity of the plant installed.
The present plant is rated at 8 kilowatts, and falls within the classes
described in paragraph (c) of subclause (B) of clause (1) of Regulation
6 of the Water-power Regulations 1934.

for the Purpose of generating Electricity.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 13th day of
January, 1943.

Present :

THE RIGHT HON. P. FRASER PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

PURSUANT to the Public Works Act, 1928, His Excellency the
Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting
by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the
said Dominion, doth hereby grant to Gordon McKenzie, of
Mangatoro Valley (hereinafter referred to as “the licensee”), a
license subject to the conditions hereinafter set forth to obstruct,
impound, or divert the waters of an unnamed stream situated in
Section 35, Block XII, Mount Cerberus Survey District, in the
Land District of Wellington, and to take and use therefrom for
the purposes hereinafter set forth a stream of water not exceeding
one-quarter of a cubic foot per second at any one time.


CONDITIONS.

  1. IMPLIED CONDITIONS.

THE conditions directed to be implied in all licenses by the Water-
power Regulations 1934, and the Electrical Supply Regulations
1935, shall be incorporated in and shall form part of this license
except in so far as the same may be inconsistent with the provisions
hereof.

  1. LICENSE SUBJECT TO REGULATIONS.

This license is issued under the Water-power Regulations 1934,
the Electrical Wiring Regulations 1935, and the Electrical Supply
Regulations 1935, and is subject thereto and to any regulations made
or to be made in amplification or amendment thereof or in substitu-
tion therefor.

  1. UTILIZATION OF WATER AND LOCATION OF HEADWORKS.

Water shall be used under this license solely for the purposes of
generating electricity, and shall be taken from the stream at the
point at headworks situated within the said Section 35, Block XII,
Mount Cerberus Survey District, indicated on the plan marked
P.W.D. 94017, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works,
and shall be returned to the said stream at or near the power-house.

Revoking a License authorizing the Auckland Farmers’ Freezing
Company (Limited), to erect Electric Lines at Horotiu.

At the Government House at Wellington, this 23rd day of December,
1942.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

PURSUANT to the Public Works Act, 1928, His Excellency the
Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting
by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the
said Dominion, and with the consent of the licensee, doth hereby
revoke the Order in Council dated the seventh day of February,
one thousand nine hundred and twenty-one, and published in the
New Zealand Gazette No. 23 of the third day of March of the same
year, authorizing the Auckland Farmers’ Freezing Company (Limited),
to erect electric lines at Horotiu.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in him
by the Public Works Act, 1928, and of all other powers
in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the
Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting
by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council
of the said Dominion, doth hereby order and declare that the
portions of road described in the Schedule hereto shall, on
and after the date of this Order in Council, become Govern-
ment road.


SCHEDULE.

Government road:—

Wellington, and thereon coloured as above mentioned.
