NOTICE is hereby given in pursuance of the Regulations Act, 1936, of the making of regulations and orders as under :-

Price Order No. 127, Amendment No. 1 (Main Crop Potatoes).
PURSUANT to the powers conferred on it by the Control of Prices Emergency Regulations 1939,* the Price Tribunal, acting with the authority of the Minister of Industries and Commerce, doth hereby make the following Price Order :-
- This Order may be cited as Price Order No. 127, Amendment No. 1, and shall be read together with and deemed part of Price Order No. 127† (hereinafter referred to as “the principal Order”).
APPLICATION OF THIS ORDER.
- This Order applies with respect to all potatoes subject to the principal Order that are sold at any time between the 1st day of May, 1943, and the 30th day of June, 1943 (both days inclusive) :-
(a) By any wholesaler to any retailer; or
(b) By any retailer by way of retail sale.
MODIFICATION OF PRINCIPAL ORDER WITH RESPECT TO POTATOES THAT ARE SUBJECT TO THIS ORDER.
- (1) Notwithstanding anything to the contrary in the principal Order, the price that may be charged by any wholesaler for any potatoes to which this Order applies shall not exceed :-
(a) For potatoes sold for delivery to a retailer at any place within the provincial districts of Canterbury and Otago .. .. .. Per Ton. £ s. d. 8 15 0
(b) For potatoes sold for delivery to a retailer at any place within the Metropolitan Areas of Auckland or Wellington (as defined in sub-clause (8) of clause 16 of the principal Order), or within the cities or boroughs of New Plymouth, Wanganui, Napier, Gisborne, Picton, Blenheim, Nelson, Greymouth, Westport, or Hokitika .. .. .. 10 10 0
(c) For potatoes sold for delivery to a retailer at any other place in New Zealand .. .. 12 5 0
(2) The maximum prices fixed as aforesaid are fixed as for delivery into the retailer’s store.
- (1) Notwithstanding anything to the contrary in the principal Order, the price that may be charged by any retailer for any potatoes to which this Order applies shall not exceed :-
(a) For potatoes sold by retail at any place within the provincial districts of Canterbury and Otago .. .. .. 1¼d. per lb.
(b) For potatoes sold by retail at any place within the Metropolitan Areas of Auckland or Wellington (as defined in subclause (8) of clause 16 of the principal Order), or within the cities or boroughs of New Plymouth, Wanganui, Napier, Gisborne, Picton, Blenheim, Nelson, Greymouth, Westport, or Hokitika .. .. .. 1½d. per lb.
(c) For potatoes sold by retail at any other place in New Zealand .. .. .. 1¾d. per lb.
(2) Where any potatoes to which this Order applies are sold by retail in lots of 14 lb. or 28 lb. or 56 lb. or 112 lb., the maximum retail price shall not in any case exceed :-

(3) Where any such potatoes are sold by retail in any lot exceeding 14 lb., but otherwise than in a lot of the actual weight specified in the last preceding subclause, the maximum price per pound of any surplus (being less in every case than 14 lb.), shall be the appropriate maximum price fixed by subclause (1) hereof.
(4) Nothing in the foregoing provisions of this clause shall affect the operation of subclause (6) of clause 16 of the principal Order (providing for the calculation of the price of any lot to the nearest upward penny or halfpenny, as the case may be).
