The Holidays Labour Legislation Modification Order 1941, Variation No. 13.
IN pursuance of the Labour Legislation Emergency Regulations 1940, the Minister of Labour doth hereby order as follows:—
- This Order may be cited as the Holidays Labour Legislation Modification Order 1941, Variation No. 13.
- This Order shall be read together with and deemed part of the Holidays Labour Legislation Modification Order 1941 (hereinafter referred to as “the principal Order”).
- The principal Order is varied as follows, namely:—
“The provisions of the principal Order shall not apply to the workers coming within the scope of the Taranaki and Wellington Cool-stores Employees’ award, dated the 6th day of August, 1940, and recorded in 40 Book of Awards 1234.” - This Order shall be deemed to have come into effect on the 1st day of December, 1942.
Dated at Wellington, this 20th day of January, 1943.

IN pursuance of the Labour Legislation Emergency Regulations 1940, the Minister of Labour doth hereby order as follows:—
- This Order may be cited as the Overtime and Holidays Labour Legislation Suspension Order 1941, Variation No. 21.
- This Order shall be read together with and deemed part of the Overtime and Holidays Labour Legislation Suspension Order 1941 (hereinafter referred to as “the principal Order”).
- The principal Order is varied as follows, namely:—
“The provisions of the principal Order shall not apply to the workers coming within the scope of the Taranaki and Wellington Cool-stores Employees’ award dated the 6th day of August, 1940, and recorded in 40 Book of Awards 1234.” - This Order shall be deemed to have come into effect on the 1st day of December, 1942.

The Lemon Marketing Regulations 1940.—Notice fixing Prices of certain Grades.

Wellington, 18th January, 1943.
PURSUANT to Regulation 5 : 1 of the Lemon Marketing Regulations 1940, I hereby fix the following prices per bushel to be paid by the Marketing Department for lemons of Fancy Grade and Commercial Grade respectively, delivered to the Department during the undermentioned period.
The prices are fixed on an average basic price of 7s. 10½d. for sufficient fruit which when cured will pack a bushel case.
Period of delivery (both days inclusive): 1st January to 31st January, 1943:—
Loose packed fresh lemons, Fancy Grade .. 5 9
Loose packed fresh lemons, Commercial Grade .. 4 9

Land situated in Invercargill Hundred declared to be a Public Reserve.

NOTICE is hereby given that the following resolution was passed by the Invercargill City Council, pursuant to section 5 of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act, 1928, on the 18th day of August, 1942, due notice of intention to pass such resolution having been given in terms of the said section, and no objections thereto received:—
“It is hereby resolved that all those parcels of land containing together 3 roods 28·88 poles, being Lots 29 and 30 on Deposited Plan No. 663 in the Land Transfer Office at Invercargill, being part Section 15, Block I, Invercargill Hundred, and being all the land in Register-book, Vol. 94, folio 142, in the said office, be declared and the same are hereby declared a public reserve within the meaning of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act, 1928, to be held in trust as an endowment for the improvement and benefit of the City of Invercargill and for no other purpose whatsoever.”

Lands vested in the Opotiki Hospital Board declared to be Public Reserves.

NOTICE is hereby given that the following resolution was passed by the Opotiki Hospital Board pursuant to section 5 of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act, 1928, on the 2nd day of October, 1942, due notice of intention to pass such resolution having been given in terms of the said section, and no objections thereto received :—
“The Opotiki Hospital Board hereby resolves, pursuant to section 5 of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act, 1928, that the undermentioned lands vested in the said Board be public reserves for hospital purposes. The said lands are :—
“(a) 8 acres 2 roods 27·5 perches, being Lot 4, Deposited Plan No. 11064, being part of Allotment 384, Parish of Waiotahi, and all the land in certificate of title, Vol. 70, folio 230 (Gisborne Registry) :
“(b) 4 acres, being part of Allotment 384, Parish of Waiotahi, and being all the land in certificate of title, Vol. 70, folio 149 (Gisborne Registry).”

Customs Holidays.—Anniversary Days.
Customs Department,

IT is notified for public information that notwithstanding the appointment of certain days as public holidays to be kept annually by the Customs, as set forth in the New Zealand Gazette of 1917, at page 964, and in the New Zealand Gazette of 1923, at page 880, at the particular port or ports indicated to commemorate the foundation of that part of New Zealand in which such port is situated, the following days shall not be kept as public holidays by the Customs in the year 1943 :—
22nd January at the ports of Wellington and Wanganui.
29th January at the ports of Auckland and Gisborne.
1st February at the ports of Nelson and Westport.
23rd March at the ports of Oamaru, Dunedin, and Invercargill.
31st March at the ports of New Plymouth and Patea.
1st November at the port of Wairau.
1st December at the ports of Greymouth and Hokitika.
16th December at the ports of Lyttelton and Timaru.

The Household Furniture Manufacture Control Notice 1943.
PURSUANT to the Factory Emergency Regulations 1939,* I, George Augustus Pascoe, Factory Controller, hereby direct and give notice as follows:—
1: This notice may be cited as the Household Furniture Manufacture Control Notice 1943.
2. This notice shall come into force on the day next following the date of the publication thereof in the Gazette, but shall not apply to furniture ordered before that date if it is delivered by the 30th April, 1943, or, with the prior written approval of the Factory Controller, by the 31st May, 1943 :
Provided that application for any such approval shall be made before the 15th February, 1943, and shall be accompanied by a statement setting out particulars of all partly manufactured and partly processed furniture held in stock by the applicant on the date of the application.
- In this notice—
“The said specification” means the New Zealand Emergency Standard Specification entitled “Simplified Practice for the Manufacture of Household Furniture” issued by the New Zealand Standards Institute under the authority of the Minister of Industries and Commerce, bearing date January, 1943, and numbered N.Z.S.S. E. 104 (SP)†, and includes any amendment thereof that may hereafter be issued or any specification that may hereafter be issued in substitution therefor :
“Household furniture” means furniture in relation to the manufacture of which the said specification applies.
- No owner or occupier of a factory within the meaning of the Factory Emergency Regulations 1939 shall—
(a) Manufacture any article of household furniture the manufacture of which is prohibited by clause 3 of the said specification :
(b) Manufacture any other article of household furniture in contravention of the provisions of the said specification.
