At the Government House at Wellington, this 24th day of February, 1943.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred on him by the Tramways Act, 1908, and the Tramways Amendment Act, 1910, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby approve of the term of the license granted for a period of seven years from the date hereof, by the Chairman, Councillors, and Inhabitants of the County of Waimarino to the Fordell Timber and Case Company, Limited, a duly incorporated company having its registered office for New Zealand at Wanganui (hereinafter referred to as “the licensee”), authorizing the licensee to construct and maintain a private tramway along and across the Mangaetoroa North Road, the position of such tramway being more particularly shown on the plan marked P.W.D. 116343, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington.

At the Government House at Wellington, this 17th day of February, 1943.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.
PURSUANT to the Public Works Act, 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby grant to Robert Craig, of Crushington, Farmer (hereinafter referred to as “the licensee”), a license subject to the conditions hereinafter set forth to obstruct, impound, or divert the waters of a stream known as Left Hand Branch Creek, situated in Block VII, Waitahu Survey District, in the Land District of Westland, and to take and use therefrom for the purposes hereinafter set forth a stream of water not exceeding 15 cubic feet per second at any one time, and to erect the electric lines hereinafter described.

CONDITIONS.
- IMPLIED CONDITIONS.
THE conditions directed to be implied in all licenses by the Water-power Regulations 1934, and the Electrical Supply Regulations 1935, shall be incorporated in and shall form part of this license except in so far as the same may be inconsistent with the provisions hereof.
- LICENSE SUBJECT TO REGULATIONS.
This license is issued under the Water-power Regulations 1934, the Electrical Supply Regulations 1935, and the Electrical Wiring Regulations 1935, and is subject thereto and to any regulations made or to be made in amplification or amendment thereof or in substitution therefor.
- UTILIZATION OF WATER AND LOCATION OF HEADWORKS.
Water shall be used under this license solely for the purpose of generating electricity up to a maximum capacity of 15 kilowatts at 220 volts direct current, and shall be taken from the water-race No. 8984 leading from the said creek at the point in Section 1, Block VII, Waitahu Survey District, indicated on the plan marked P.W.D. 114886, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington.
- GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF WORKS.
The licensee is hereby authorized, subject to the conditions hereof, to construct, maintain, and use the following works for the purposes of this license, the positions of the said works being indicated on the said plan P.W.D. 114886 :—
(a) Headworks consisting of a dam and intake and water-race leading to the water-wheel and power-house, hereinafter referred to, giving a static head of approximately 24 ft.
(b) A power-house with all necessary equipment for generating electricity.
(c) Electric lines leading from the power-house aforesaid across Section 1, Block VII, Waitahu Survey District, to the licensee’s homestead situated on the said Section 1, and across the Reefton-Hanmer Junction Main Highway.
- DURATION OF LICENSE.
Unless sooner determined, this license shall continue in force until the 31st day of March, 1963.
- SYSTEM OF SUPPLY.
The system of supply shall be as described in paragraph (j) of clause 21-01 of the Electrical Supply Regulations 1935. The generating and transmission voltages shall be approximately 220 volts direct current.
- RENTAL.
For the purpose of assessing the annual rental payable in respect of this license, the licensee may install a suitable maximum-demand indicator to the satisfaction of the Inspecting Engineer of the Public Works Department, and failing such installation the rental shall be assessed on the maximum generating capacity of the plant installed. The present plant is rated at 15 kilowatts, and falls within the classes described in paragraph (c) of subclause (B) of clause (1) of Regulation 6 of the Water-power Regulations 1934.

PURSUANT to the Public Works Act, 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby grant to Daisy Oliana Irvine and Selwyn Robert Irvine, of Brightwater, Nelson, Farmers (hereinafter referred to as “the licensees”), a license subject to the conditions hereinafter set forth to take and use from a stream, known as Long Gulley Creek, situated in Section 28, Block XIV, Waimea Survey District, in the Land District of Nelson, for the purposes hereinafter set forth a stream of water not exceeding three and one-half cubic feet per second at any one time.

The licensees are hereby authorized, subject to the conditions hereof, to construct, maintain, and use the following works for the purposes of this license, the approximate positions of the said works being indicated on the said plan P.W.D. 115271 :—
(a) Headworks consisting of an intake with a water-race leading to the water-wheel and power-house hereinafter referred to, giving a static head of approximately 20 ft.
(b) A power-house, with all necessary equipment, for generating electricity.
(c) Electric lines leading from the power-house referred to in (a), across part Section 28, Block XIV, Waimea Survey District, and the adjoining public road and the Lee River to the licensees’ dwelling situated on part Sections 11 and 24, Block XIV, Waimea Survey District; the said lines being more particularly delineated on the aforementioned plan P.W.D. 115271.
- SYSTEM OF SUPPLY.
The system of supply shall be as described in paragraph (d) of clause 21-01 of the Electrical Supply Regulations 1935. The generating voltage and the transmission voltage shall be approximately 230 volts direct current.
