HAWERA BOROUGH COUNCIL

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

Water Improvements Supplementary Loan, 1943

IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the Hawera Borough Council hereby resolves as follows :—

“That, for the purpose of providing for the repayment with interest and other charges on a loan of £1,600, authorized to be raised by the Hawera Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of completing the undertaking for which a loan of £16,200 was heretofore raised—namely, for improving the water-supply in the Borough of Hawera by providing and installing a filtration and treatment plant with all necessary fittings, and by providing and installing a 6 in. water-main in Waihi Road and High Street with all necessary house connections and other requisites, and by reconditioning and lining the existing water-mains comprising the reticulation system of the borough—the said Hawera Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of fifty-eight one-thousandths of a penny (58/1000d.) in the pound upon the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property of the Borough of Hawera ; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable yearly on the first day of the month of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty years or until the said loan is fully paid off.”

The foregoing resolution was passed at a duly constituted meeting of the Hawera Borough Council on the 13th day of December, 1943.
