(5) Where any such onions are sold by retail in any lots exceeding
5lb., but otherwise than in a lot of the actual weight specified in the
last preceding subclause, the maximum price of any surplus over
5lb. or over any multiple of 5lb. (being less in every case than
5lb.) shall be at the rate of the appropriate maximum price fixed
by subclause (3) hereof.
(6) If in respect of any lot of onions sold by a retailer the
maximum price calculated in accordance with the foregoing provisions
of this clause is not an exact number of pence of half-pence, the
maximum price of the lot shall be computed to the nearest upward
halfpenny.
12. Every retailer who offers or exposes for sale any onions to
which this Order applies shall keep for a period of not less than two
months a record showing with respect to every purchase of such
onions made by him by way of wholesale the following particulars :—
(a) The date of purchase:
(b) The name and address of wholesaler from whom purchased:
(c) The trade description of the onions purchased:
(d) The quantity purchased:
(e) The price paid.

containing 152 acres 0 roods 39·94 perches, more or less, situate in

Notice calling up Reservists for Service with the Armed Forces

National Service Department,
Wellington, 2nd December, 1943.

IT is hereby notified for general information that, in pursuance
of the powers vested in me by Regulation 44 of the National
Service Emergency Regulations 1940, I have, on the 2nd day of
December, 1943, issued to—
Laurence Bruce, Contractor, Te Kawa, Te Awamutu, Registration No. 648132, and
Slavko Devcich, Farmer, Ngahinepouri R.D., Ohaupo, Registration No. 646127,
notices calling them up for service with the Armed Forces, such
persons having been severally convicted for that, being reservists
belonging to a division of the Reserve the enrolment of which has
been proclaimed, they did fail to make application in writing for
enrolment in that class of the Reserve as required by Regulation
43 (1) of the National Service Emergency Regulations, 1940.
