Land reserved as an Endowment for Primary Education

A PROCLAMATION

WHEREAS, under the provisions of the Land Act, 1924, the land enumerated in the first column of the Schedule hereto was temporarily reserved as an endowment for primary education, upon the date specified in the second column of the said Schedule: And whereas notice of such reservation was laid before both Houses of Parliament: And whereas the two Houses have passed resolutions, upon the dates specified in the third column, approving, in terms of section three hundred and sixty-two, subsection two, of the Land Act, 1924, of the land being permanently set aside as an endowment for primary education:

Now, therefore, I, Cyril Louis Norton Newall, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance of the power and authority conferred upon me by the Land Act, 1924, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land enumerated in the first column of the Schedule hereto is hereby reserved as an endowment for primary education.

Crown Land and Provisional State Forest set apart as a Permanent State Forest

BY virtue and in exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by section eighteen of the Forests Act, 1921–22, I, Cyril Louis Norton Newall, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby set apart the Crown land and provisional State forest described in the Schedule hereto as a permanent State forest.

SCHEDULE

NELSON LAND DISTRICT.—NELSON CONSERVANCY

ALL those areas in the Nelson Land District, Collingwood County, containing 164,622 acres, more or less, being ordinary provisional State forest, 103,015 acres, national-endowment provisional State forest, 36,130 acres, and Crown land, 25,477 acres, and described as follows:—

All that area containing 9,630 acres, more or less, being national-endowment provisional State forest, 7,410 acres (Gazette, 1920, page 2114), and Crown land, 2,223 acres, situated in Blocks I, II, and V, Onetaua Survey District, and Blocks II and VI, Pakawau Survey District, and bounded generally as follows: Towards the north by Section 2, Block I, Onetaua Survey District, and Sections 3, 5, and 6, Block II, Onetaua Survey District; towards the east by Section 7, Block II, Onetaua Survey District; towards the south-east generally by Sections 24 and 31 of Square 16, Block II, Onetaua Survey District, by the Village of Puponga, a public road, Sections 31 and 28 of Square 16 aforesaid, Sections 22, 21, 20, and 19, of Square 15, Block V, Onetaua Survey District, Section 4, Block V aforesaid, Sections 17, 16, and 15 of Square 15, Block V aforesaid, and Sections 14 and 29 of Square 15, Block XVI, Pakawau Survey District; towards the south-west by the Pakawau Creek, a public road, and again by the Pakawau Creek; generally towards the west by Sections 1 and 40 of Square 15, and Sections 5, 7, and 6, Block II, Pakawau Survey District; and towards the north-west by Section 1, Block I, Onetaua Survey District: save and excepting all intersecting public roads.

Also all that area containing 148,359 acres, more or less, being ordinary provisional State forest, 96,665 acres (Gazette, 1920, pages 926 and 927, Gazette, 1940, page 2657, and Gazette, 1943, page 319), national-endowment provisional State forest, 28,440 acres (Gazette, 1920, page 2114), and Crown land, 23,254 acres, situated in Blocks VI, VIII, IX, X, XII, XIII, and XIV, Pakawau Survey District, Blocks I to XVI, Aorere Survey District, Blocks XI, XII, XV, and XVI, Wakamarama Survey District, Blocks I, II, and IV, Waitapu Survey District, Blocks IV, VII, VIII, XI, XII, and XV, Gouland Survey District, and Blocks I to VII, IX, X, XI, XIII, and XIV, Waingaro Survey District, and bounded generally as follows: Towards the north generally by Section 12, Block V, Pakawau Survey District, a public road, permanent State forest (Gazette, 1917, page 386), again by a public road, and Section 1, Block IX, Pakawau Survey District, and Section 7, Block X, Pakawau Survey District; towards the west generally by a public road, Section II, Block VI, Pakawau Survey District, and by a line across Muddy Creek; towards the south-west by a road reserve along Muddy Creek; towards the east by a line across Muddy Creek to the north-west corner of Section 11, Block VI, Pakawau Survey District, by Section 11, Block VI aforesaid, and Section 9, Block X, Pakawau Survey District; towards the south-west and west by a public road and Section 1, Block V, Pakawau Survey District; towards the north by a road reserve along Westhaven Inlet; towards the north-east and west by a road reserve along Muddy Creek; again towards the north by the road reserve along Westhaven Inlet, and by Sections 8 and 1, Block VI, Pakawau Survey District, and a road reserve along Pakawau Creek; towards the south-east generally by Section 58 of Square 15, Sections 3, 4, 2, and 6, Block VI, Pakawau Survey District, Sections 6, 4, and 25, Block X, Pakawau Survey District, Section 2 of Block I, Aorere Original, Block X aforesaid, Section 3 of Block I, Aorere Original, Blocks XIII and XIV, Pakawau Survey District, the Aorere River, Sections 3 and 4, Block XIII, Pakawau Survey District, the abutment of a road, and Sections 9, 8, and 10, Block XIII aforesaid, and Sections 2 and 4, Block III, Aorere Survey District; towards the south by the Kaituna River; towards the north-west, south-west, east, and north by permanent State forest (Gazette, 1917, page 386); towards the south-east generally by Sections 55, 5, 52, and 51, Block III, Aorere Survey District, by a road reserve along Victoria Creek, and by Section 49, Block III, Aorere Survey District; towards the south by Sections 47 and 48, Block III, Aorere Survey District; towards the east by Section 48, Block III aforesaid, and by Section 6, Block II, Aorere Survey District; towards the south-west and south-east by permanent State forest (Gazette, 1917, page 386), Section 16, Block IX, Aorere Survey District, a road reserve along Eliott Creek, Sections 10, 12, and 14, Block IX aforesaid; towards the north-east generally by Section 14 aforesaid, a public road, Brown’s River, and Beecham Stream; towards the north-west generally by Section 3, Block XIII, Aorere Survey District, the Heaphy Track, Section 6, Block XIII, Aorere Survey District, a road reserve along the Aorere River, a line across the Aorere River, and by the Clark River; towards the south-west by Section 19, Block IX, Aorere Survey District; towards the north-west by Sections 7, 6, 1, 13, and 17, Block IX aforesaid, the Aorere River, Section 5, Block X, Aorere Survey District, by Salisbury Creek, again by the Aorere River, and by the Big Boulder River, Section 12, Block VII, Aorere Survey District, by the Little Boulder River, and again by the Aorere River; towards the east by the Slate River and Fletcher’s Creek; towards the south, south-east, north, west, and again to the south by permanent State forest (Gazette, 1917, page 386); towards the north-west by a track along a dividing ridge being the watershed of the Slate and the Parapara Rivers, a public road, and Section 8, Block VIII, Aorere Survey District; thence towards the north by a right line from the north-eastern corner of Section 8 aforesaid to the eastern bank of the Parapara River; towards the north-west generally by the Parapara River for a distance of 100 chains, more or less; thence by a line bearing 38° 15′ for a distance of 29 chains, more or less, to a point on the eastern boundary of Aorere Survey District, 40 chains north of the south-east corner of Block IV, Aorere Survey District; thence by a right line to the southernmost corner of Section 122 of Square 14, Block I, Waitapu Survey District, and by Section 122 of Square 14 aforesaid, and Sections 76, 74, and 72, Milnthorpe Suburban in Block I, Waitapu Survey District; towards the east generally by Sections 69, 68, 67, Milnthorpe Suburban, and Section 99, Takaka, all Block I, Waitapu Survey District, Section 95, Takaka, and Section 16, Block II, Waitapu Survey District; towards the south-east by a reserve along the Onekaka River, and Sections 7, 21, 14, and 17, Block II, Waitapu Survey District; towards the south-east generally by Section 2, Block II aforesaid, and Sections 4 and 5,
