Exemption Order under the Transport Legislation Emergency Regulations 1940.

PURSUANT to the Transport Legislation Emergency Regulations 1940, the Minister of Transport doth hereby order and declare that the provisions of clause (1) of Regulation 7 of the Motor-drivers Regulations 1940, so far as they relate to drivers of heavy trade-motors, shall not apply to Roy Melvyn Herbert, of Edendale.

THE following special order made by the Eketahuna County Council is published in accordance with the provisions of the Counties Amendment Act, 1931.

SPECIAL ORDER.

"That, in pursuance and exercise of the powers contained in section 2 of the Counties Amendment Act, 1931, the Eketahuna County Council hereby resolves, by way of special order, sections 121 and 131 of the Counties Act, 1920, shall not apply to this Council."

We hereby certify that the above special order was passed at a properly constituted special meeting of the Eketahuna County Council held on the day above mentioned, and that such special order was confirmed at a subsequent ordinary meeting of the Council held on the 14th day of August, 1942. The notice special order was published in the Wairarapa Times-Age newspaper of the 23rd and 29th July, 1942, and 5th and 12th August, 1942.

Industrial Man-power Emergency Regulations 1942.—Declaration of Essential Industry (No. 120).

IN pursuance of the powers conferred upon him by Regulation 11 of the Industrial Man-power Emergency Regulations 1942, the Minister of Industrial Man-power doth hereby declare the industry of teaching in respect of teachers employed in University colleges and agricultural colleges affiliated to the University of New Zealand, teachers' training colleges, secondary schools, technical schools, combined schools, public schools, and manual training centres under the control of Education Boards, including agricultural instructors employed by Education Boards, students in training in teachers' training colleges, student-teachers in technical and combined schools, and probationary assistants in public schools to be an essential industry for the purposes of those regulations.

Dated this 15th day of October, 1942.

Industrial Man-power Emergency Regulations 1942.—Declaration of Essential Industry (No. 121).

IN pursuance of the powers conferred upon him by Regulation 11 of the Industrial Man-power Emergency Regulations 1942, the Minister of Industrial Man-power doth hereby declare the operations of every goods service and every passenger service as defined in section 2 of the Transport Licensing Act, 1931, but excluding any taxi-cab service, to be an essential industry for the purposes of those regulations.

Authorizing the Laying-off of Roads of less Width than 66 ft.

WHEREAS in the opinion of the Minister of Lands it is inexpedient by reason of the fact that the land shown upon the plan of Town of Three Kings Extension No. 35, affecting part of Allotment 118, Section 10, Suburbs of Auckland, situated in Block IV, Titirangi Survey District, is intended to be used wholly for residential purposes, that Fearon Avenue shown thereon should be of the width of 66 ft. :

Now, therefore, in pursuance of the power conferred upon him by section 17, subsection (1), of the Land Act, 1924, and of every other power him thereunto enabling, the Minister of Lands doth hereby authorize the laying-off of Fearon Avenue of a width not less than 50 ft. : Provided always that it shall not be lawful for any person to erect or cause to be erected any building at a less distance than 33 ft. from the middle of such road.

Given under the hand of the Minister of Lands, this 14th day of October, 1942.

WHEREAS in the opinion of the Minister of Lands it is inexpedient by reason of the fact that the land shown upon the plan of Town of Three Kings Extension No. 34, affecting parts of Allotments 118 and 119, Section 10, Suburbs of Auckland, situated in Block IV, Titirangi Survey District, is intended to be used wholly for residential purposes, that Donald Crescent, Fearon Avenue, Bridgman Avenue, and Cleghorn Avenue shown thereon should be of the width of 66 ft. :

Now, therefore, in pursuance of the power conferred upon him by section 17, subsection (1), of the Land Act, 1924, and of every other power him thereunto enabling, the Minister of Lands doth hereby authorize the laying-off of Donald Crescent of a width not less than 54 ft., Fearon Avenue and Bridgman Avenue of a width not less than 50 ft., part of Cleghorn Avenue from Donald Crescent to Bridgman Avenue of a width not less than 50 ft., and the other part of Cleghorn Avenue in an easterly direction of a width not less than 40 ft. : Provided always that it shall not be lawful for any person to erect or cause to be erected any building at a less distance than 33 ft. from the middle of such roads.

Given under the hand of the Minister of Lands, this 14th day of October, 1942.
