HIS Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to approve of the following appointments, promotions, and resignations of officers of the New Zealand Military Forces :-

STAFF.

The notice published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 80, dated 27th August, 1942, relative to Major (Acting Lieutenant-Colonel) H. E. Fernyhough, Royal Artillery, is hereby cancelled and the following substituted :-

“Major (temp. Lieutenant-Colonel) H. E. Fernyhough, Royal Artillery, is granted the unpaid acting rank of Colonel as from 9th July, 1942, and paid acting rank of Colonel as from 30th July, 1942 (with effect from 9th July, 1942).”

N.Z. TEMPORARY STAFF.

2nd Lieutenant (temp. Captain) C. E. A. Buller relinquishes his appointment in the N.Z. Temporary Staff and the temporary rank of Captain and is reposted to the New Zealand Scottish Regiment in the rank of 2nd Lieutenant with seniority from 31st July, 1939. Dated 11th June, 1942.

2nd Lieutenant B. C. Hart, Reserve of Officers, Supplementary List, to be 2nd Lieutenant (temp.). Dated 22nd September, 1942.
