Alterations to the Scale of Charges upon the New Zealand Government Railways.

IN pursuance of all powers and authorities enabling me under the Government Railways Act, 1926, and its amendments, and of all other powers enabling me in this behalf, I, Robert Semple, Minister of Railways, do hereby make the following alterations to the General Scale of Charges and to the Goods—Local Rates Scale of Charges made on the 13th day of April, 1939, and published in the Supplement dated the 19th day of April, 1939, to the New Zealand Gazette of the 13th day of April, 1939, in force on the New Zealand Government Railways open for traffic.

GENERAL SCALE OF CHARGES.

PASSENGERS.

  1. Sleeping-berths.

Paragraph 5: By omitting the words “Christchurch—Dunedin” and substituting “Christchurch—Dunedin—Invercargill.”

  1. Trip Bearer Tickets.

Paragraph 2: By omitting the words “three calendar months” and substituting “six weeks, including date of issue.”

LOCAL FARES AND REGULATIONS.

  1. Suburban Fares.

Paragraph 16: By omitting the words “up to the end of the month following the month of issue” and substituting “for one calendar month, including date of issue.”

LUGGAGE, PARCELS, Etc.

†Whakatane Any station on the North and South Island Main Line and Branches or the Picton Section Rail and Department’s Road Service via Rotorua or Whakatane West.
†Opotiki Any station on the North and South Island Main Line and Branches or the Picton Section Rail and Department’s Road Service via Rotorua or Taneatua.
†Gisborne Any station on the North Island Main Line and Branches Rail and Department’s Road Service to or from Opotiki via Rotorua or Taneatua, and privately operated road service between Opotiki and Gisborne.
†Kaikoura Any station on the North Island Main Line and Branches Rail and Department’s Road Service via Hundalee and Lyttelton or via Picton.
†Kaikoura and Blenheim Any station on the South Island Main Line and Branches Rail and Department’s Road Service via Hundalee.
